Après une transat victorieuse, Paul Meilhat met le cap sur le tour du monde ! 🌎

Un an presque jour pour jour après sa victoire dans le tour de l’Europe, Paul Meilhat continue de surfer sur le ‘flow’ du succès 😀 Ce jeudi 10 septembre, le skipper de United by The Ocean accompagné de la Portugaise Mariana Lobato, de l’Américaine Sara Stone et de Benjamin Ferré, s’est imposé dans The Ocean Race Atlantic.
Une victoire à l’arrachée, au terme d’une course d’une f***e intensité entre New York et Lorient.

Pour Paul et son clan, les yeux sont désormais rivés sur le tour du monde en équipage dont le départ sera donné le 17 janvier prochain à Alicante ! 👋🏻🇪🇸

Almost a year to the day after his victory in The Ocean Race Europe, Paul Meilhat is still riding the wave of success. On Thursday 10 September, the skipper of United by The Ocean, sailing with Portugal's Mariana Lobato, America's Sara Stone and Benjamin Ferré, won The Ocean Race Atlantic. A hard-fought victory, at the end of an incredibly intense race from New York to Lorient.

➡️ For Paul and his crew, all eyes are now on the fully crewed round-the-world race, starting from Alicante on 17 January!

« La fin de la course était incroyable ! » 🤩🥳

C’est dans une véritable explosion de joie que Paul, Mariana, Sara, Benjamin et Marin ont franchi en tête la ligne d’arrivée de The Ocean Race Atlantic, ce jeudi après-midi.

💬 Paul : « C’était un super combat avec ces cinq bateaux ! Ce matin rien n’était joué, ça aurait pu être 11th Hour Racing, comme DMG Mori Global One, ou Team Malizia. On a essayé d’appliquer notre stratégie, de ne pas trop regarder ce que faisaient les autres, et ça a payé donc on est contents ! »

It was pure joy on the water as Paul, Mariana, Sara, Benjamin and Marin crossed the finish line of The Ocean Race Atlantic in first place this Thursday afternoon.

💬 Paul: "It was a great battle between these five boats! This morning nothing was decided, it could have been 11th Hour Racing, or DMG MORI Global One, or Team Malizia. We tried to stick to our own strategy and not look too much at what the others were doing, and it paid off, so we're happy!"

VICTOIRE ! 💥🏆🤩

United By The Ocean vient de franchir la ligne d'arrivée de The Ocean Race Atlantic à Lorient en première position, après 7 jours, 23 heures et 39 minutes de course depuis New York 👊 Une traversée de 3 000 milles que l'équipage aura menée de mains de maîtres, malgré des conditions éprouvantes, mentalement comme physiquement.

Après un départ au large de New York, puis six jours accrochés à une dépression qui les a poussés jusqu'aux Açores, un anticyclone qui a rebattu les cartes à l'approche des côtes et une dernière nuit à moins d'un mille de leurs adversaires, Paul, Mariana, Sara et Benjamin s'offrent finalement la victoire au terme d'un duel à quatre bateaux qui aura duré jusqu'à la ligne 💙

BRAVO !! 👏

Et un immense merci à Marin Le Roux, qui nous a fait vivre chaque mille depuis le bord 📸

United By The Ocean has just crossed the finish line of The Ocean Race Atlantic in Lorient in first place, after 7 days, 23 hours and 39 minutes of racing from New York 👊 A 3,000 mile crossing the crew handled masterfully, despite conditions that were gruelling both mentally and physically.

After a start well offshore of New York, six days hooked onto a low that carried them to the Azores, a ridge of high pressure that reshuffled everything on the approach to the coast, and a final night less than a mile from their rivals, Paul, Mariana, Sara and Benjamin take the win at the end of a four-boat duel that ran all the way to the line 💙

BRAVO!! 👏

And a huge thank you to Marin Le Roux, who brought us every mile from on board 📸

The Ocean Race Atlantic 🗽 - JOUR 7

Le sprint final est lancé ! 🔥

À moins de 600 milles de l’arrivée, ils sont encore quatre à pouvoir rêver de victoire. United By The Ocean est 3e ce matin, à seulement 25 milles du leader actuel.

À bord, les conditions sont désormais beaucoup plus agréables. Après plusieurs jours éprouvants, l’équipage peut enfin remettre le nez dehors et barrer le bateau, un vrai plaisir… mais aussi l’occasion d’affiner la trajectoire et optimiser chaque mille jusqu’à Lorient.

Car la guerre de position se poursuit autour de l’anticyclone des Açores. Trouver le bon placement, conserver du vent et rester dans le bon rythme : la victoire pourrait se jouer dans les 100 derniers milles.

Tous les regards sont désormais tournés vers Lorient, où les quatre premiers sont attendus demain 👋🏻😀

The final sprint is on!

With less than 600 miles to go, four boats can still dream of victory. United by The Ocean is 3rd this morning, just 25 miles off the current leader.

On board, conditions are far more pleasant now. After several gruelling days, the crew can finally get back on deck and helm the boat. A real pleasure, and a chance to fine-tune the trajectory and make every mile count on the way to Lorient.

Because the positioning battle around the Azores high is far from over. Finding the right spot, holding onto the breeze, keeping the rhythm: this one could be decided in the final 100 miles.

All eyes are now on Lorient, where the top four are expected tomorrow!
