🌏 Celebrating the 182nd World YMCA Day 2026
On 5 June 2026, Myanmar YMCA proudly joined the global YMCA movement in celebrating the 182nd World YMCA Day, bringing together members, volunteers, youth leaders, partners, and friends both in person and online.
The celebration commenced with opening remarks from Ms. Lu Ja, President of Myanmar YMCA, who welcomed participants and reflected on the importance of unity, service, and the continued commitment of YMCA in nurturing young people and strengthening communities across Myanmar.
During the event, U Maung Maung Win, General Secretary of Myanmar YMCA, delivered an inspiring presentation on the rich history of the YMCA movement, highlighting how YMCA has evolved over the past 182 years globally and throughout its journey in Myanmar. He also shared Myanmar YMCA’s ongoing efforts in empowering young people through leadership development, community service, education, peacebuilding, humanitarian action, and community engagement initiatives.
In commemoration of World Environment Day, Myanmar YMCA distributed ornament plants to all participants as a symbol of our collective responsibility to care for the environment and contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all volunteers, participants, and supporters who joined the celebration, both physically and virtually. Your enthusiasm, dedication, and continued support strengthen our mission of empowering young people and creating positive change in our communities.
As we celebrate 182 years of YMCA’s global impact, we remain committed to inspiring, empowering, and supporting young people to become active citizens and leaders for a better future.
Happy 182nd World YMCA Day! 💙☘️
