Sensei Charlo Spiteri has over 22 years experience in Jiu-jitsu where he achieved a 1st dan black belt under the Sensei John Sevasta. Besides, he also has over 9 years experience in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at the Roger Gracie Accademy in London where he attained a brown belt. Our Story
Checkmate Fight Club Malta is under the Sensei Charlo. Sensei Charlo Spiteri has over 17 years experience in Jiu-jitsu where he achieved a 1st dan black belt under the Sensei John Sevasta. Besides, he also has over 5 years experience in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at the Roger Gracie Accademy in London where he attained a blue belt. Additionally, he was awarded a green belt in Kickboxing.
Within these 4 years, Sensei Charlo, together with his students had attended several national and international competions. Some of the students, together with the respective Sensei, had also the opportunity to deepen their training in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and MMA in London.
To conclude, the aim of this club is to improve its quality both through national and international training, keeping in mind that since it is a fighting sport, one should not take advantage of it and harm unqualified people.
Our main goal is to prepare fighters for competitions however those who wish to keep it just as training to keep fit it is possible.
