Before treating patients, was an athlete within our system, experiencing The MET Hub as an idea still on the drawing board. Through the years, he has embodied the ethos we stand for, not only in the clinic but also in the pool.

Darren is currently representing our country at the World Cup qualifiers, a source of great pride for all of us at The MET Hub, where supporting our practitioners in maintaining their athletic careers remains paramount.

Same standards. Same intent. This time in the water, not on the pool deck.

Treating kids like small adults leaves potential on the table.

This is why understanding sensitivity windows and providing the right stimuli at the right time, is so important. Not because adaptation may occur only in a switch like, on and off, manner, but because investing at the right time yields higher return.

Over the past weeks, .abugrin, physiotherapist at The MET Hub, has been competing internationally with the Maltese national netball team.

Balancing her role in the clinic with life on the court, she’s been immersed in the same environment many of the athletes we support operate in.

- High-intensity international competition.
- The physical and mental demands of match play.
- The realities of preparation, recovery, and performance under pressure.

At The MET Hub, our professionals don’t just work in sport they live it.

Experiences like this sharpen the perspective we bring back to our athletes and patients, strengthening the systems we build around performance, rehabilitation, and long-term development.

Because understanding sport isn’t theoretical. Sometimes it’s earned through competition. 🏐

Upper body plyometrics are one of the most underutilised tools for overhead athletes, with most athletes skipping them entirely. The shoulder isn’t just a strength structure. It needs to produce AND absorb force at speed. This is key to build good injury resilience.

But the key word here is gradual.

Here’s how to build it properly:

1️⃣ Build a general base of strength first
2️⃣ Add deceleration-focused exercises
3️⃣ Progress to basic low-load plyos
4️⃣ Get creative with reactive drills

Maintaining these key principles in mind allows for the building of both powerful and resilient shoulders.

Save this if you work with overhead athletes 👆

Data for data’s sake doesn’t mean better decisions. If you can’t apply it, it’s just noise.

FLUX is built to turn physiological data into something practical; something you can plug straight into your training.

Clarity over clutter. Keep your eyes peeled.

Most “tight hips” aren’t really about flexibility.

The 90/90 Switch is a simple way to observe how your hips access rotation.

What matters isn’t whether it looks perfect, but how your body gets there.

Leaning, bracing with the hands, lifting the knee, or cramping through the glutes are all useful clues.
They point to capacity gaps, not permanent limitations.

Mobility improves when:
• you explore range dynamically
• you add strength in lengthened positions
• you train across multiple planes

Assess. Build. Re-assess.

Save this for your warm-ups, or share it with someone who thinks mobility means stretching harder.

Over the past two months, our founder was at the European Aquatics Water Polo Championships with the Montenegrin national team, marking the second major competition of his year-long tenure as exercise physiologist for .

- Six weeks of preparation.
- Fifteen days of competition.
- Time split between work on pool deck and the gym and sifting through data.

Every camp and tournament our professionals partake in, sharpens the systems we build at The MET Hub, from physical preparation and rehabilitation to load management and decision-making under pressure.

We export our ethos, bring back elite-level insight, and use it to keep raising the standard of how we operate.
