Everyone wants to run faster, jump further or throw farther.
The difference is rarely motivation.
Motivation comes and goes.
Progress comes from the standards you set every day:
• Showing up to training
• Executing the session properly
• Taking recovery seriously
• Being disciplined when nobody is watching
At SpeedWorks we believe success is built on consistent standards, not occasional motivation.

Matteo’s first ever 100m race and a very encouraging performance. Developing speed is essential for progression in middle distance events and today showed very positive signs for the future.

A few special mentions:
Matteo executed his race brilliantly, staying composed and maintaining form all the way to the finish line to break the 2-minute barrier and register a new U16 National Record.
Liam continues to improve steadily, dropping from 12.40 to 12.09 while also showing much better running mechanics.
Luke and Jasmine are both progressing very well and showing the rewards of dedication in training.
Elizabeth is improving technically nearly every competition and it is truly a pleasure to watch her development. You have come a long way — keep believing in the process. Thank you Coach Jenny
Maria is also showing huge improvements in both pace and overall performance. We are definitely on the right track for more positive results ahead.
Most importantly, these achievements are not only about times and distances. They are about growth, discipline, resilience and learning how to perform under pressure and difficult conditions.
A sincere thank you goes to everyone supporting these athletes, especially the parents, whose commitment and sacrifices play a huge role behind the scenes.
Success in athletics is rarely one big moment — it is built quietly, session after session, through discipline, patience and belief. Keep showing up, keep trusting the process, and the results will continue to come.

Today we were in action at Mellieha Ac 5K & 1K race in Ta’ Xbiex, and it was a great day for our athletes.
Madeleine Borda delivered a good performance in the 5K, securing 2nd place in her category and achieving a personal best.
In the 1K race, Katarina Mangion took 1st place in her category, showing great determination and race ex*****on. Jake Bezzina finishing 2nd with a personal best in the 1K.
What makes these results even more meaningful is the timing. With studies currently at their peak, balancing school and training is never easy. The mental and physical demands of exams can take a real toll, and consistency becomes a challenge.
Yet despite this, all three athletes stayed committed, kept showing up, and delivered performances worthy of the podium.
This is a reminder that success is not just about talent — it’s about discipline, resilience, and how well you manage your time when life gets demanding.
Stay consistent, stay organised, and trust the process. The results will follow. 💪

Today we were in action at the Mqabba village 1K road race, a technical course through narrow streets with tight corners and a great atmosphere towards the finish.
Liam is on a high. After dominating yesterday’s school sports day at the Marsa track—winning the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1200m—he carried that momentum into today’s race.
He delivered again, placing 1st overall and winning the 13–15 category in 3:22. A strong performance on a demanding course.
Another solid set of performances came from Yan at the school sports day, finishing 2nd in the 100m, 3rd in the 200m, 2nd in long jump, 4th in the 400m, and contributing to a 1st place finish in the relay. A great all-round effort.
Well done also to David, who finished 2nd in the Mqabba village 1k 10–12 category in 3:52.
Progress comes from consistency, effort, and the courage to compete. Keep showing up and trust the process.

This morning, Katarina took 1st place in the Żurrieq 1K with a strong and controlled performance from start to finish.
She showed good race awareness, held her rhythm well, and finished with confidence — a clear sign that the work in training is paying off.
Well done Katarina.
Keep building — progress is earned in the days no one sees.
