Deep Passion Freediving

Last August I was invited by a friend Adel Nommo Černá to The Dolphin Trip - a week long retreat in Red Sea at the Sataya Reef, Egypt - as a photo and videographer. A week on a liveaboard full of swimming and freediving with wild spinner dolphins.

What I learnt from dolphins?

It doesn't matter how long I hold my breath.
Less is more. The less I try to get close to them, the closer they come.
If I wink at them and they wink back at me, we're BFF.
Raising up a child can sometimes get physical.

In last couple of months when people talk about freediving I can hear almost only words like "tables", "mouthfil", "freediving computer", "performance", "records" and other terms related to hard training, top performance and similar serious stuff. That's good as we all want to improve but where have fun and joy gone?

So I am excited to create something very different for you. Two Freediving Safari events into swim throughs, wrecks and caves of Malta and Gozo, a tiny but nice archipelago in Central Mediterranean. One in July, one in August.

No workshops, no training, no coaching, no deep diving on the line. We will have just a great time together exploring the photogenic wrecks scuttled for divers, enchanting caves full of mysterious shadows and narrow chimneys with the light at the end of the tunnel in the crystal clear water with average visibility 30-40 m which make Malta & Gozo (apart from excellent depth training conditions) a paradise for freedivers.

Based in Gozo, freediving 6 days straight, two sessions a day, each dive in another location, including one trip to Malta and two boat trips to one the most beautiful and best accessible wrecks in Mediterranean so we can squeeze as much as we can from that limited time. All of this in the area of Manhattan.

Blíží se prázdniny a s nimi plánovaní dovolených a výletů za potápěním. A protože možností není nikdy dost, rozhodli jsme se s Tom Ka zařídit vám týden nezapomenutelného freedivingu na maltském ostrůvku Gozo, který je proslulý svou klidnou atmosférou, křišťálově čistou vodou a tím, že je to luxusní freediverské hřiště.

Všichni jste určitě drtili celou zimu v bazénu, abyste to v létě zúročili na hloubkách, tak nebojte, my vás těch tlaků na výkony ušetříme. Nebudeme trénovat hloubky, ale budeme si UŽÍVAT. Prolejzačky, vraky, jeskyně, prostě zábava - to je zaměření tohole tripu, to je to, čím Malta a Gozo vynikají na mapě pro freedivery. Pokud byste ale i tak zatoužili po kmitání nožičkama podél špagátu až na dno a dál, na většině lokalit k tomu budete mít možnost. Takže lanyard s sebou.

Co nás čeká? Máme před sebou 6 dní potápění, 2 ponory denně, každý na jiné lokalitě. Z toho dvakrát potápění z lodi na nejlepším a nejjednodušším vraku celého Středomoří.

Jo a abych nezapomněl - celá akce je organizována speciálně pro Čechy 🇨🇿 a pre bratov Slovákov 🇸🇰 . Oba mluvíme česky, tak se nemusíte obávat jazykové bariéry.

Kapacita je 8 lidí, aby to nebyla masovka.

CONTEST RESULTS

Today I was supposed to raffle the winner of the contest however due to unexpected circumstances (a serious car accident closing the main road back home and heavy traffic on the only alternative plus a minor accident closing that one as well for a couple of hours) I decided to postpone the raffle for tomorrow 3rd April evening.

Meanwhile I just post the correct answer.

As most of you correctly answered, the plastic bottle in the bottom left corner was what bothered me (in the green circle).

Some of you suggested that the Azure Window is not there anymore as Mother Nature claimed 6 years ago which is true but there's nothing what can be done unlike the case of plastic rubbish. In this matter each and every single one of us can do a massive difference.

United we stand, united we fall.
