First touch of the water after the upgrade!! Fully ready for the 2025 season!

In this post, we’re diving into the Buddy Boat’s technical side — everything not related to design, interior, or aesthetics. Just hardcore maintenance and safety!

Thank you Kalkara Marina Co Ltd for the comprehensive support and the flawless ex*****on of all the work on the yacht.

So, what did we do with Buddy Boat throughout March and April?

These months were truly busy months — we carried out full technical maintenance, reinforced the structure, and thoroughly prepared the boat for the season:

1. Interior work and coatings:
• Removal of gelcoat from the inner hull sides.
• Filling and fairing of corners with epoxy filler, followed by sanding.
• Internal hull reinforcement — 10 layers of By Excel structural material applied to both sides.
• Final sealing layer — 1 coat of West System Resin.

2. Mechanics and hull:
• Manual cleaning of the hull below the waterline from fouling and marine growth.
• Servicing of seacocks, raw water filters, and valves.
• Maintenance of rudder bearings, shafts, and shaft seals.
• Osmosis check — moisture levels within normal range, no blistering.

3. Electrical and electronics:
• Complete replacement of all batteries.
• Installation of a new battery charger.
• Full service of all onboard electronics: diagnostics, cleaning, inspection of connections, and functionality check.

4. Other important work:
• Replacement of all zinc anodes.
• Servicing of the hydraulic steering system.
• Inspection and cleaning of the fuel tanks.

The result: the technical condition of the boat is excellent. The hull is reinforced, all systems are serviced, and the electronics are running perfectly. Buddy Boat is fully ready for the season!

🔧⚓ Scheduled Upgrade in Progress! ⚓🔧

Our boat is currently at the shipyard, undergoing scheduled maintenance and an upgrade of key components. Every detail is being carefully refined to ensure maximum comfort and reliability on the water!

📅 From mid-April to early May, the refreshed Buddy Boat 🚤 will be back on the water and ready for new adventures!

The cabin of the ship St. Michael was destroyed by the winter storm of 2025... 🌊 🌊

It wasn’t just a beautiful structure - it served as a refuge for many of the fish around Zonkor Reef. Now that this shelter is gone, the fish have lost their safe haven, and we are saddened by this loss.

🔹 Some fish species may move to other man-made structures or natural refuges, traveling further into open waters along the reef.
🔹 Fish without protection may become more cautious and move to the other side of the reef.
