Last week, I spent time with my best friend Alex who came to visit me from Berlin.

Im still in deep gratitude and it reminded me what is acctualy a friendship. it reminded me of something I think we all deeply need as human beings:

Real connection.

The kind where nothing has to be filtered.......Where silence is comfortable.
Where you don’t have to perform, explain yourself, or pretend to be okay all the time.

The kind of friendship where both people give strength to each other.
Where you grow together through different phases of life.
Where distance, time, or change never really break the bond.

And somehow, this connected so much with the previous reel I shared about yoga beyond the mat.

Because yoga philosophy is not only about poses or flexibility.
It’s also about how we live.
How we treat ourselves.
And how we treat others.

In yoga, there are principles called the YAMAS.
Simple teachings that guide human relationships and inner peace.

Ahimsa / kindness and non-harming
Satya / honesty and truth
Asteya / respect and not taking from others
Brahmacharya / balance and conscious energy
Aparigraha / trust, freedom, and not holding too tightly

And while I’m still learning all of this myself…I realised that nurturing our friendships is yoga too.

Being present.
Supporting each other.
Listening.
Showing up.
Making people feel safe, seen, and loved.

Kind Reminder, that is part of the practice too 🤍

Sometimes I think we forget that yoga is not only what happens on the mat.

Many of us begin with the physical practice the ASANAS, the stretching, the movement.
Me too.
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
The body is often the doorway in.

But slowly, I started understanding that yoga is so much more than poses.

It’s also in the way we speak to ourselves when nobody hears it.
In how we treat people.
In resting when we need rest.
In taking a deep breath instead of reacting immediately.
In being present with a friend.
In choosing softness instead of constant pressure.

The practice on the mat is only one small part of a much bigger philosophy of living with more awareness, kindness, balance, and connection.

And honestly…I’m still learning this every single day.

Some days yoga looks like movement.
Some days it looks like sitting quietly by the sea.
Some days it looks like being gentle with myself when life feels heavy.

Not perfectly. Just consciously. Little by little.

Maybe yoga is not about becoming someone else.
Maybe it’s about returning to ourselves more honestly 🤍
