Congratulations to Melissa on passing her Open Water Course. A 3-day diving course for beginners at some of the best dive sites on Gozo. Including The famous Blue Hole, Ras Il Hobz, Anchor Reef and Xwejni Bay. At Bliss Dive we like to take the time to give our customers a range of experiences at different dive sites so that divers finish the course with confidence and ready for their next diving adventure wherever they are in the world.

🔴 NEW LEGISLATION: Calling all fishermen and spear fishermen! Stony Sea urchins are from today protected by law ⬇️.

From today the Legal Notice 149 of 2023 that initiates a moratorium on the collection of urchins for two years came into force. This means that for these two years it will be illegal to catch urchins, so that the urchin population in Malta can recover.

Before today, only the long spiked sea urchin was protected by law. Now the prohibit also includes the Stony Sea Urchin.

⚠️ Please report suspicious fishing activity to us via 79378118 so that we can go on site to monitor/document the illegality and follow up with a report to the authorities.

‼️ Note that the law does not prohibit the importation of sea urchin products. But the restaurants and whoever imports the urchins will be required to keep the relevant documentation to prove the origin in cases of inspections.

We wish to thank the Ministry of Environment [ Miriam Dalli ] and the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture for this very important law change.

Oooh, look Gozo's new scuba diving wreck. A new exciting diving attraction. The MV Hephaestus, a 60m long tanker. Sunk on the South Coast of Gozo at Ix-Xatt l-Aħmar on the 29th of August 2022 at 14:00. Bliss Dive was on site checking out the operation organised by the Malta Tourism Authority and the Gozo Ministry.
