On 22 May, the world celebrates the International Day for Biological Diversity. Malta's story has two sides.

On land: falcons fly over the cliffs, small birds sing from the rocks, lizards sit in the sun, and wild thyme grows in the fields.

Under the sea: green seagrass meadows give us oxygen, tiny seahorses hide in the grass, sea turtles swim the old paths, and big fish rest in the reefs.

Every plant and animal — on land or in the sea — is part of the same home. If we protect one, we help them all.
