Last weekend at the 2026 Kokka Night organised by we had to pleasure to present the Kokka Sportiva award to for his participation and efforts during the 2025 World University Games.
Matthew ran, and set a National Record of 46.63 which placed him 10th overall at the games!
We would also like to congratulate all the participants who were nominated for the Kokka Sportiva award.

University of Malta athlete David Borg represented the Malta University Sport Association (MUSA) and the University of Malta at the FISU World University Championship Cross Country in Cassino, Italy, finishing 44th with a time of 32:24 in the Menβs Individual Long Race.
Competing against over 100 university athletes from across the world, Borg proudly represented Malta at one of the highest levels of international university sport.
This marks the beginning of MUSAβs presence in international university competitions, and we look forward to seeing more University of Malta athletes competing on the global stage in the future.
