5-set thriller goes our way
This morning, both our U15 teams were in action, obtaining different results.
Our Gold team, as expected, found the job too tough especially in the first and third sets. against Phoenix Young Stars, as they lost their game 0-3, However the performance was encouraging in the second set, as these girls are working on a different playing system.
In the other match, our Blue team emerged winners 3-2 against Flyers after 5 hard fought sets.
Flyers went ahead in the first set, with Depiro going level after the second set, only to lose concentration and lost easily the third set.
However, the determination and fighting spirit showed by our girls turned the result in our way in the last two sets, in a thrilling atmosphere both on court and on the stands.
Results:
Depiro Gold - Phoenix Young Stars 0-2 (4-25, 18-25, 3-25)
Depiro Blue - Flyers 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 9-25, 25-21, 17-15)

Splendid second place in Paola Tournament 🥈
Following the first day of the Paola Tournament, where all four teams played each other, the tournament continued on Sunday morning with two playoffs and two placing matches.
Our girls continued on the good performances of day 1, with another two very positive performances and results.
In the semifinal match against Mgarr, Depiro had the better of their opponents in three sets and won the match 2-1.
This result meant that Depiro earned the chance to play in the final where Depiro faced BKVC, an experienced team and this meant a tough challenge for our girls.
The first set ended in our favour, thus going ahead, but BKVC improved in the next two sets and turned the result in their favour, ending winners of the tournament.
A second place for our team, against three more experienced teams, that confirmed our good state and the certainty of giving a good challenge to the top teams.
Well done to all involved! Now we prepare for next season, continuing the hard work that gave us more satisfaction this season.
Game 1 Depiro vs BKVC 0-2 (18-21, 12-21)
Game 2 Depiro vs Mgarr 1-2 (21-16, 19-21, 17-19)
Game 3 Depiro vs Paola 1-2 (18-21, 21-17, 12-15)
Game 4 Depiro vs Mgarr 2-1 (21-19, 17-21, 15-9)
Game 5 Depiro vs BKVC 1-2 (21-16, 16-21, 9-15)
