To all our wonderful JCDC mothers — Happy Mother’s Day. 💐

Today we celebrate the love, strength, patience, and endless support you give so selflessly every single day. Thank you for every early morning, every rushed schedule, every costume prepared, every encouraging word, every sacrifice, and for trusting us with your children throughout the year.

Behind every young dancer is a mother cheering them on, lifting them up, and helping them follow their dreams. Your support means more than words can express, and today you truly deserve to be celebrated and cherished.

From all of us at Johane Casabene Dance Conservatoire, we wish you a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with love, appreciation, and happiness 💝

🩰A courtesy visit by Artistic Director Johane Casabene was warmly received by the High Commissioner. She discussed her work curating a photographic exhibition in Malta on renowned ballet master Enrico Cecchetti.

The exhibition showcases rare archival images from Civitanova Marche which traces Cecchetti’s enduring legacy, marking 60 years of the Cecchetti Method in Malta. It was developed in collaboration with Italian partners and reflects a shared commitment to preserving and promoting dance heritage. It also features a special tribute performance honouring Tanya Bayona.

The exhibition has been well received by Malta’s cultural community and is currently on display at Teatru Manoel. It is hoped that this exhibition could also travel to London.

Today, on International Dance Day, I find myself reflecting on what an extraordinary year it has already been… and on all of you JCDC students.

I am so incredibly proud of you not just for how you dance, but for how you endure, how you grow, and how you continue to show up with strength, even when it is not easy. This year has asked a lot of you, and yet you have risen to it with courage, commitment, and heart.

There is something deeply special about the bond we share through dance. It goes beyond steps, beyond rehearsals, beyond the stage. It is a connection built on trust, discipline, resilience, and a shared love for something greater than ourselves.

Know that every time you step into the studio, every time you push through a challenge, every time you believe just a little more in yourselves, my own journey in dance continues through you. And that is something I carry with immense pride.

Today, we celebrate dance… but above all, we celebrate you.

Keep going. Keep believing. Keep dancing 💖🩰💖
