Sirens ASC - Waterpolo

Saturday’s Remy D’Amato Memorial Match was another beautiful evening of waterpolo, friendship and remembrance.

Thanks to everyone who took part, came along and donated, we are incredibly proud to have collected €1,055 for the Norrie Disease Foundation. 🙏❤️

Norrie disease is a rare genetic condition that can cause severe visual impairment or blindness, and can also affect hearing and development. Raising awareness and supporting families affected by it is incredibly important.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this evening so special and, most importantly, for continuing to keep Remy’s memory alive.

Sirens ASC are delighted to announce the signing of Alastair Cook, who makes his return to the club after spending the past years with Neptunes WPSC, including a loan spell with Exiles during the previous summer season. 🤽‍♂️🔥

Alastair is a Sirens ASC club product, having come through our ranks before departing for Neptunes. We are delighted to welcome one of our own back home and see him once again wearing the Sirens colours. 💙❤️

His return adds further quality and depth to our squad, and we look forward to seeing him back where his water polo journey began.

💙❤️ WELCOME TO SIRENS ASC, MIJAT! 💙❤️

We are delighted to welcome Mijat Mijatović to the Sirens ASC family as our Head Coach of the Academy, bringing with him more than 15 years of professional coaching experience across Serbia, Turkey, Israel and Malta.

Mijat holds a Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sport, specialising in Water Polo, and is a holder of an “A” Coaching Licence from the Water Polo Federation of Serbia. His Master’s thesis focused on the development and specific motor skills of water polo players aged 15–17, reflecting his strong expertise in youth development.

Throughout his career, Mijat has worked with clubs including VK Belgrade, VK Valis and Galatasaray, as well as senior teams in Israel and Malta. He has also worked within the Serbian national team setup, including as assistant coach of the Serbian U17 National Team that became European Champions in Malta in 2021.

His achievements at youth level are particularly impressive, having won multiple national championships in Turkey and developed generations of players who went on to represent professional and national teams. Most recently in Malta, he guided the Otters U14 team to the Maltese U14 Championship and the first medals in the club’s history.

With his extensive experience in youth coaching, player development and building successful academy programmes, we are confident Mijat will play a key role in taking the Sirens ASC Academy to the next level. 💪🏼🤽‍♂️

💙❤️ WELCOME TO SIRENS ASC, STEPHEN! 💙❤️

We are delighted to welcome Stephen André Luotto to the Sirens ASC family as our Head Women’s Coach, while also taking on the role of Assistant Coach within our Academy.

Stephen joins us with an impressive coaching background and extensive experience in competitive water polo. 🇮🇹🤽‍♂️

He has been Head Coach & Fitness Coordinator at Roma Vis Nova since 2023, where he has worked across the women’s programme, including leading the Serie B Women’s team to promotion to Serie A2 and achieving play-off qualification. He has also managed youth teams competing at national level.

Prior to Roma Vis Nova, Stephen spent more than a decade with SIS Roma, working as Head Coach and Assistant Coach across senior and youth teams. His experience includes Serie A2, Serie B, Women’s Under-18 and Under-20 national competitions, as well as developing young players through the club’s academy system.

Stephen also holds a FIN Level 2 Water Polo Coach qualification, alongside certifications in swimming instruction, personal training, lifeguarding and sports-centre fitness coordination.

His experience in player development, team management, strength & conditioning and youth coaching makes him a fantastic addition to our coaching structure. 💪🏼

We are excited to have Stephen on board and look forward to seeing him contribute to the continued growth of our Women’s First Team and Academy.

After 6 years with Sirens ASC, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Coach Igor for his dedication, commitment and contribution to the club throughout the years.

This past season, Igor also took on the role of Assistant Coach of the First Team, playing an important part in the team’s development and overall improvement. His experience, hard work and support were greatly appreciated both in and out of the pool.

Six years is a long journey, and we are truly grateful for everything you have given to Sirens ASC. 🫶🏼
