Gameweek 4:
Sliema Warriors Vs Betsson FC 5 - 4.

With our captain abroad and an endless list of injuries. This was a magnificent result.

An experimental lineup that worked in the end. The boys took a while to get into the game. The first half was cagey; we rushed play and had no real flow.

Steve Grima equalised before the break. A great strike from a tight angle. Yes, we were robbed again. The referee, who couldn't take more than 3 steps before losing breath, decided for whatever reason to disallow the goal. Are these people absolutely incompetent, or is there some money being handed out before these games? We will never know.

Whether it was because of an incredible debut by or a spirited fight by an angered Steve Grima the boys went on to completely dominate the second half. We went up 5-2. It could have been 6 or 7 in what was one of the best halves of football we have ever had.

Another dodgy decision to hand out a free kick right outside the box and a deflected free kick in the last minute of the game made the scoreline close.

Gameweek 3:
Sliema Warriors Vs La Familgia 6 -10

The boys gave it their all against what looked like a professional football team out there. The level of play was something we haven't experienced before.

The referee was an absolute shambles. What a truly unprofessional showing from him; he openly admitted being biased during the game.

Warriors missed two huge chances in the second half which could have changed the game but a respectable effort nonetheless.

SFAL Gameweek 2:

Sliema Warriors Vs Msida Collies 2-2

Goals from Andrew Pizzuto & Paul in the second half helped the team come back from what was a disgraceful first half.

The opposition used a tactic that looked a bit like a hybrid of badminton & wrestling.

Draw on the night, improvement is needed, onto the next one.

We started the campaign with a hard fought 2-2 draw versus Madballerz.

Going into halftime 2-1 up the team was truly on top.

We should have scored more. Not killing them off in the first half was a mistake we eventually paid for. The champions fought back in the second half, snatching a goal and taking a point.

SSL Summer League 2025 -

Ended as it started in disaster.

The warriors fought their way into the championship playoffs.

Followed it up with a great quarter-final win vs Qormi Hotspurs.

Yet it wasn't to be our year, fielding half a team for the semi-finals vs Mazina Knights, we lost convincingly on the night.

The Summer League ended in disappointment. We took too long to adapt to the new pitch and maybe drank too many mojitos in between matches.

Tonight we start our Seven-a-side Football Alliance League (SFAL) 25\26 campaign vs Madballerz, last year's champions.

It's gearing up to be one of the highest levels ever, with several league champions from different competitions competing in the league this year.

League Update: SSL Summer League 2025 -

Sliema Warriors Vs Xenons - 3-0
Sliema Warriors Vs Mazina Knights - 3-1

Sliema got back to winning ways in Gameweek 6, with a solid 3-0 win over Xenons.

In Gameweek 7, the Warriors truly found their form, beating a tough Mazina Knights 3-1.

Next week, the boys take on underdogs, hoping to solidify their place in the top 6 and championship playoffs.

The team is slowly adjusting to the new pitch and setup.

Sliema Warriors Vs Expected Toulouse 3-3

A disaster result in Gameweek 3 saw Sliema dominate the match and somehow manage to lose.

Gameweek 4 was much more positive. Up against the league favourites, nobody expected the lads to get a result. 1-1 Vs the so-called Asian champions and let's face it a win was on the cards.

Gameweek 5 saw the boys once again fight for a draw Vs Expected Toulouse who topped the league. Huge pity that the team did get the 3 points in the end.

With the toughest fixtures out of the way the Warriors now have a chance to climb the table and challenge the top.

SFAL 2025 Cup Quarter Final

We went into this game with half a team.

At half time 2-2 was way above expectation. The boys fought hard and were unlucky not to be in the lead at half time. The performance was reflective of our summer form.

In the second half fortune was not on our side and with an already short handed team, both our CBs got injured.

The team fought to try to stay in the game but ultimately it wasn't to be.

3-6 defeat.

Shout out to Steve Grima & Al Thornton who both had a great game.

The referee had an absolute disaster class and this is not the first time. He seems to go against us because we are the more disciplined team, and is scared of our opposition, ridiculous.

SFAL see you next year, as for being the "fair play award winners", we rather get unbiased refs but alas.
