Sliema Aquatic Sports Club would like to extend its warmest congratulations to Walter Arciola on his appointment as President of Sliema Wanderers FC, together with Andrea Zammit Tabona as Vice President and Alex Muscat as Club Secretary, as well as the entire newly appointed Committee.

As two clubs that proudly share the Sliema name, history and community, we wish you every success as you embark on this new chapter. We are confident that with renewed ambition and a clear vision, Sliema Wanderers FC will continue to build on its proud tradition.

Yesterday we hosted our second educational session in collaboration with The Authority for Integrity in Maltese Sport (AIMS) at Sliema Pitch.
The session focused on the important topic of “Basics in Integrity”, bringing together our Under 16, Under 18, and Under 20 squads.
Education and awareness are key pillars in shaping not only better athletes, but responsible individuals who understand the value of fairness, respect, and integrity in sport.
A big thank you to AIMS for their continued support and commitment to promoting clean and ethical sport. 🙌

Yesterday we had an absolute blast at the La Salle Family Fest! 🎉💙🩵

It was a fantastic opportunity to promote our water polo and swimming academies, while sharing the importance of being part of these incredible sports with the younger generation.
We loved interacting with the boys and girls from St Benild Sliema, Stella Maris College and Stella Maris College, Gzira — from shooting water polo balls, enjoying fun water games, to connecting with our young athletes. They also had the opportunity to take photos with our props, including some of our most important medals and trophies won, water polo caps, and more — making the experience even more special and memorable! 💪📸
A big thank you to all the staff of St Benilds and Stella Maris for the opportunity and for the excellent organisation of such a wonderful event. Looking forward to many more moments like this! 🙌

We are proud to announce Italian star Francesco Di Fulvio ahead of the 2026 Summer League 🇮🇹

Widely regarded as one of the most decorated and accomplished players in world water polo, Di Fulvio arrives in Malta with an incredible list of achievements at both club and international level.

A world champion, Olympic medallist, Champions League winner, and multiple-time MVP, Di Fulvio has consistently performed at the very highest level of the sport for over a decade — winning trophies and individual honours across Europe and on the international stage.

Francesco Di Fulvio will join Spanish International Alberto Barroso as Sliema ASC’s foreign players for the 2026 Summer League 🇪🇸🇮🇹

Maltese swimmer Sasha Gatt delivered another impressive international performance at the AP Race London International, breaking national records and posting her highest World Aquatics score of the season so far. 🇬🇧✨

Competing against world-class athletes, Gatt broke her own Maltese national record in the 200m Freestyle twice in the same day before finishing the competition with another national record in the 800m Freestyle.

Her performances earned her a total of 776 World Aquatics points, marking a strong milestone as preparations continue ahead of the upcoming Commonwealth Games. 💪

Gatt also thanked coach Catalin Stan, Sliema ASC Swimming, and Eurosport Malta for their continued support throughout her journey, while highlighting the valuable experience gained from competing at such a high-level international meet. 🇲🇹

Matthew Satariano produced a remarkable display in the pool after breaking the Maltese 400m Individual Medley national record twice in the same day. 🏊‍♂️🇲🇹

The Sliema ASC swimmer first lowered the national benchmark during the morning session with a time of 4:34.50, delivering a composed performance across all four strokes.

Satariano later returned for the afternoon session and improved even further, clocking an outstanding 4:30.67 to break his own newly-set national record just hours later. 🔥
