As a trainer, there is of course a stereotype that exists, especially in the way that we should look. Unfortunately, I have on occasion been on the receiving end of judgement, because I'm not "skinny" or "ripped" enough. What some people don't know, is that if you had seen a picture of me or had known me between 2-4 years ago, you would see me 7-8kg heavier than I am now.
There has always been an element of struggle when it has come to my weight, especially when it comes to balancing everything out in a healthy way. My weight has fluctuated a lot over the last few years. So to the people who also have the same struggle or who are struggling right now....I HEAR YOU! It isn't an easy road, but it's worth it.

I am happy, I am healthy, I love to train, I love to also occasionally be lazy, I love food in all of its glory but have learnt to keep things moderate, but I also do have some way to go before I am where I would like to be. Balance is truly everything 🔑

Basically, the moral here is F what people say or think. Do it for you and yourself alone, not for an image society has constructed.
This should be a mantra for everyone ❤️
Have a good Monday!! 💪🏽

Days 5&6 🎉

So the final 2 days i had the most energy out of them all. Introducing proteins not only made me feel fuller for longer periods of time, but it also gave me much more strength within my everyday activities and of course with my training.

But it's FINISHED 😃🎉! 32 juices later. No coffee, refined sugar, refined carbs or dairy for 6 days .
Although I was cranky as hell for the first 3, I must say that overall, I do feel so much better. I wasn't eating lots of crap in the first place, but there are so many things that we eat or add to our foods on a daily basis, which number 1; we don't actually need and number 2; is high in sugars, sodium, saturated fats, caffeine and other "toxic" things and chemicals.

In only 6 days I lost 2 kilos. You may be thinking "YES! That's great! I'm going to do it now..", but actually once I start eating relatively normal again, some of that weight will go back on. It's inevitable and I am totally fine with that. I even saw a slight change in definition a day after I started eating again.

My advice would be to NOT do it for weight loss (long term weight loss in particular), but to do it because you want to kick start a healthier diet and lifestyle.
The number 1 lesson that I have learnt from this experience/cleanse, is to be much more mindful about what I eat , and to really listen to my body. It was so interesting to see what I truly craved, and it wasn't what I was expecting at all. I will definitely think twice about the amount of coffee I drink and dairy that I add to my food. And I will also include much more fresh and natural produce into my daily life.

Thanks to N**e juices for the delicious juices and good luck to those at freemyme who have started the cleanse this week! 💪🏽

Now...time to eat my bodyweight in pizza! 😜

Day 4! ⚡️

And FINALLY! I woke up feeling full of energy and ready for the day. Probably because I had a full day of eating real substance. I miss my coffee, but I'm not craving it for the first time this week. Maaaaybe I can actually be a functional, non alien-face like, normal human being without it in the morning?! 😜

Training- I had so much energy compared to yesterday. At last I had some horse power behind me and actually felt great. BOOM! 💪🏽

Lunch - Bean and veg ratatouille. Looking forward to having some starchy carbs with my meals. Usually I would have brown rice or a type of whole grain with my lunch.

Dinner - kept it light with veggie soup.

Again, I had my 4 juices between meals and had more energy than ever (since I started the cleanse). So, it isn't all doom and gloom over here! I'm coming to some pretty interesting realisations about my diet, what I can do, or not do, to live a "cleaner" lifestyle. Tomorrow I can start adding protein to my meals, whether it's meat, fish or eggs. But right now I am actually enjoying the feeling of not being stuffed to the brim or being bloated, so I may just stick to the veggie based meals and get my protein from pulses instead.

2 days to go! 👊🏼😃

Day 3! 💪🏽

I actually got out of bed early from the pure excitement about eating breakfast haha.
I had oats with cashew milk with half a banana and I felt like I had taken pre workout 😂
Had insane amounts of energy, even without my morning coffee, and also I managed to train. But my arms and legs felt like spaghetti with very little strength.

When it came to lunchtime, I had a minuscule portion of roasted veg and couscous but I had a difficult time digesting it. I am certain my stomach has shrunk and it will take some time to get used to solid foods again. I can usually put people's appetites to shame so this is a pretty new feeling for me 🐷

Dinner time! Veggie soup. I had a much better time digesting this and actually felt satisfied. But as expected, I felt super bloated. I think my body was screaming WTF?!

I had my four juices throughout the day, and my blood sugar levels felt much more stable compared to the last two days. However, my jaw STILL is clenching even after a day of eating. So I am now wondering if there is another reason why....

Officially half way through..Bring on day 4 👊🏼!
