🇲🇹 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐂𝐀 𝐈𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Malta was well represented at the World Cube Association ( ) , organised by Cubing Italy between 6–8 December 2025 in Treviglio, Bergamo, with 255 competitors taking part across multiple official cubing disciplines.

Benjamin Chetcuti Cauchi recorded five new Maltese National Records, improving on benchmarks he already held:

Benjamin has now competed in a total of eight international WCA competitions, including two competitions held in Malta. His international competitive journey began at the age of 12, when he made his debut at the WCA Norwegian Championships 2022, breaking 25 Maltese National Records at his first competition. He followed this with another landmark performance at the WCA Irish Championships 2023, improving a further 26 Maltese National Records, again surpassing his own results.

He was joined in Italy by his sister Philippa Chetcuti Cauchi, who also represented Malta and recorded new personal bests in the 3×3×3 and 2×2×2 events, continuing to build competitive experience on the international circuit.

Malta recorded a strong showing at the World Cube Association (WCA) Irish Championships 2023, organised by Speedcubing Ireland, finishing 14th overall in the finals standings among a competitive international field.

Benjamin Chetcuti Cauchi led the Maltese participation, delivering a standout performance that saw him improve a total of 26 Maltese National Records, all of which were records he already held. The results marked a significant competitive milestone and reinforced Malta’s ability to perform at international level despite the country’s small speedcubing community and limited access to domestic competitions.

Participation in events such as the Irish Championships remains crucial for Maltese cubers, providing essential exposure to larger competitive pools and regular high-level benchmarking that is not always available locally.
