📢 OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Postponement of Mauritius 7s the Africa Men’s Sevens Series 2026

The Mauritius Rugby Federation regrets to announce the postponement of the Official Africa Men’s Sevens Series 2026, originally scheduled for 20–21 June at the SPARC complex in Cascavelle.

Following recent public health guidance regarding the evolving Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa, this decision has been taken under circumstances of force majeure to prioritise the safety of players, officials, and the Mauritian community.

⚠️ Important Highlights:
Postponement, Not Cancellation: We are actively working with Rugby Africa, World Rugby, and the Mauritius Government to evaluate alternative dates.

Purely Precautionary: There are NO reported cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) among any participating teams, tournament staff, or within Mauritius.

We share in the deep disappointment this causes for our fans, sponsors, and athletes, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Thank you for your immense understanding and unwavering support.

Further updates regarding logistics and the revised competition schedule will be communicated in due course. 🇲🇺🏉
