Same club, different hairlines… and questionable cricketing abilities! 😂

This Saturday, it’s Captain Marc “Rastaman Rassie” vs Captain Jacques “Mr Humbly” as the boys go head-to-head at Northfields!

🧔 Marc’s bringing the hair, the beard and the reggae vibes.
🧑‍🦲 Jacques is bringing… well, what’s left! 🤣

The cricket might be competitive, but we all know what the real priorities are:

⛳🏌️ NCC ANNUAL GOLF DAY WHAT. A. DAY. 🍻

What a day it was! 😎⛳

A massive thank you to everyone who took part, helped out, organised, swung a club, chased a ball… and somehow made it through the day! 😂

And of course, a HUGE thank you to all our incredible sponsors for their support and generosity. Without you, days like this simply wouldn’t happen. 🙌🍻

As for what happened after Hole 6… well, nobody really remembers. 🤷‍♂️😂
Especially the boys responsible for keeping the G&Ts flowing their scorecards may have been questionable, but their commitment to the bar was absolutely world-class. 🍸🍸🍸

From the first tee to the last drink, it was another epic NCC day! 🏏⛳🍻

🍾 CH*****NE MOMENT OF THE DAY & DOD🥶

This one could only go to Dave “The Coleman” Coleman! 💪😂

With the big guns on full display, Dave decided it was time to remind everyone what he’s capable of smashing an absolutely ridiculous 50 off just 14 balls! 💥🏏

Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the big man, neither the clubhouse nor any of the cars suffered any damage…

Mainly because the wind kept blowing the ball approximately 2 metres to either side of the clubhouse and cars! 😂😂

Still, top, top stuff Dave! 👏🔥

Although I must say, there was some rather dodgy bowling involved… 🤔😂

I can’t quite remember if even one of those balls actually pitched!

Dave must have promised Rassie and Divan a few b**rs afterwards because those two were certainly doing their bit to help the cause! 🍻😂

And now for the main event…

The Overseas Pro™ has returned to the homeland! 🇬🇧✈️🇲🇺

His team back in England are sitting second on the table, he’s apparently been amongst their top three run scorers, and expectations were HIGH for his return to Northfields. 😏

Then came the moment…

Facing Yannick, with some serious pace coming down the hill, Yannick’s team decided to put 5 slips in place and only 2 fielders in front of square.

The message was clear:

👉 “Back yourself, Overseas Pro.”

And what did we get?

❌ Couldn’t find the boundary in front of the wicket
❌ Apparently too scared to take singles to get back on strike against Yannick
❌ And somehow managed to make Kevin block out a maiden…

All under the orders of the captain:

“Captains orders.” 😂😂

Shameful stuff.

Kevin, we apologise. You were simply following orders. 🫡

Skip, take one for the team because your captain clearly led you astray! 😂

🏏 POTY PLAY-OFF — WHAT. A. DAY. 🏏

The stage was set. Yannick, the 2025 POTY, taking on Finn, the 2024 POTY, in the ultimate battle for bragging rights! 🏆😂

Finn won the toss and elected to field first, sending Yannick and Marc “Rassie” to open up.

A nice, slow partnership to start 😂 but the foundations were laid, and Yannick’s team eventually posted a massive 267/6 from their 30 overs.

• Yannick — 43*
• Matty — 55*
• De Wet — 50* on debut! 👏

🎯 With the ball:
• Daz — 4 overs, 21 runs, 1 wicket 💪
• Ali — 2 overs, just 4 runs! 🥶

A huge total on the board and a serious challenge for Finn’s boys.

But the chase got off to a flyer with Barry and JVZ putting on a strong start up top. At drinks, things were very much 50/50 and the game was still anyone’s.

Then came the turning point…

🌀 THE SPIN DUO OF DREAMS — RASSIE & DIVAN! 🌀

The two spinners started turning the screw, picking up crucial wickets and swinging the momentum back Yannick’s way.

Finn’s team kept fighting all the way to the end, finishing on a very respectable 250/7 from their 30 overs.

Coleman was ONE BALL away from claiming the club’s quickest ever 50… next time, bud! 😂

A 17-run victory for Yannick’s boys, but honestly, the score was almost secondary.

The Ch*****ne Moment goes to new boy Ben after an absolutely fine knock of 89 runs! 👏🔥

Looking ridiculously solid out there, playing proper cricket from start to finish. The technique, the timing, the composure… some were saying it was like watching Sachin out there today! 🇮🇳🏏

But if we’re being honest, the real Ch*****ne Moment had to be that on-drive for SIX. 🚀

A thing of beauty. Absolutely smoked.

🏏 NOTABLES BACK TO WINNING WAYS! 🏏

What a thriller against Anna Medical and what a day for the Notables! 🔥

The Panther himself, Mike McKeown, made the call to bat first… and what a decision it turned out to be! 🐆

Today was the day we finally saw the 6-year dry spell come to an end! 🏆🍾

A massive WELL DONE to Ben, who smashed an outstanding 89 runs and earned his place on the Notables Honours Board! 👏🔥 It’s been a while, lads but what a way to do it. Class knock from a class player! 💪

Tom also chipped in with a very good knock as the Notables posted a huge 204, setting Anna Medical a serious mountain to climb.

With the ball, Prabhu and Jason got us off to a great start with some tight bowling up top, putting the pressure on from the word go. 🎯

From there, it was a proper all-round team performance. Everyone played their part, everyone did their job, and the result showed it.

Anna Medical eventually fell short by 40-odd runs. 💥
