ANZY Sports Club, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Grand Baie, successfully organized a vibrant football tournament at Cap Malheureux. The event brought together young talents in the U9 and U11 categories, creating a competitive yet enjoyable environment focused on development and sportsmanship.
The tournament featured teams from Trou aux Biches, Northern Nights, ANZY Sports Club, and Grand Bay Football Team. Throughout the matches, players displayed determination, teamwork, and a growing understanding of the game, reflecting the positive progress of grassroots football in the region.
In the U9 category, ANZY Sports Club emerged as champions after a series of impressive performances. A special mention goes to Aymaan Nohur from ANZY Sports Club, who was awarded Best Scorer for his outstanding contribution and goal-scoring ability. In the U11 category, ANZY Sports Club secured a commendable 3rd place, highlighting the consistency and effort of the players across both age groups.
The tournament was a wonderful half-day event, filled with energy, enthusiasm, and a strong spirit of unity among players, coaches, and supporters. It served as an excellent platform for young athletes to gain match experience and continue their football development.
We were honoured by the presence of the Honourable Minister of Education, Mahend Gungaparsad, and Honourable Nitish Beegan, whose support and encouragement added great value to the occasion.

⚽ ANZY SPORTS CLUB vs NORTHERN KNIGHTS ⚽
Today marked our first game of the season, and what a beautiful start it was!
Our young warriors competed in the U7, U9, and U11 categories. Yes, we lost in all three categories — but today was never about winning or losing.
At ANZY Sports Club, we believe in something much bigger than the scoreboard.
We believe in development, discipline, teamwork, confidence, and love for the game.
Football at this age is about:
• Learning
• Growing
• Building character
• Developing skills
• And most importantly… enjoying the game ❤️
What we saw today was pure motivation, enthusiasm, and incredible fighting spirit from our boys. They never gave up. They kept pushing. They kept smiling. And that makes us proud beyond words.
We don’t measure success by trophies.
We measure success by improvement.
We measure success by effort.
We measure success by passion.
And today — our kids were champions in all of that. 🏆
It was truly a pleasure to see them enjoying this half-day of football, creating memories, and building friendships. This is what grassroots football is all about.
Our next match is already fixed for the end of March, and we will communicate all details very soon. The journey continues!
A very special thank you to:
👏 Our amazing players
👏 Our supportive parents
👏 Our dedicated coaches
Your trust, support, and commitment mean everything to us.
Let’s keep building.
Let’s keep believing.
Let’s keep developing.
Bravo à tous! 💛⚽
