🏆 THE DAY AN UNDERDOG BECAME A LEGEND — MAIDEN CUP 1996 🏇💜
1996
Praveen Nagadoo was going through one of the toughest periods of his career. The rides were becoming fewer, the confidence was being tested, and many felt that his best days on the track were behind him.
And then came the Maiden Cup.
Riding the unfancied River Run, an underdog in a race dominated by the people’s champion Le Turbo, Praveen did what champions do when their backs are against the wall; he believed.
Against the odds, River Run crossed the line first. 🏆
The biggest race of the year.
The biggest moment of his career.
And perhaps the most beautiful reminder that your circumstances do not define your destiny.
When everyone counts you out, sometimes that’s when you find the strength to write your greatest chapter.
Almost 30 years later, we find ourselves facing difficult times once again. But the story of 1996 reminds us of something we will never forget:
We have been knocked down before. We have been counted out before. And we fought back.
Today, just like then, we will fight back. We will believe. And we will rise again. 💪🏇💜
“The darkest moments don’t define us. How we fight back does.”
