Looking at the girls from the host country , after a superb win in the 48 kg category with Roilya Ranaivosoa also a RIO Olympics participants with superb lifting, Ketty lent, Alison Sunnee, Emmanuellabriana Briana, it will be the turn of Shalinee Valaydon to take centre stage today for the host country . Shalinee who is 2016 bronze medallist at Commonwealth senior championships and bronze medal winner in the past year edition looking to bring more honor to the country. We wish good luck to her and all the competitors set to take the stage today. It was also good to note that Mauritius has been fairing very well at these edition of the championships. Also good to see Libya with a win in the 77kg division and the Egyptian always to good standards with Mohamed Ehab and Goba. Nice also with Tunisia, algeria and Madagascar to name a few .
It was also good to note at these championships the participation of many new kids on the block and that spell progress for the sport . Well done African weightlifting nations .
