with 💪 Ketty Lent, the reigning weightlifting Mauritian champion. Ketty trains at the High Performance Centre with Mathieu Anodin, Strength & Conditioning Specialist. Mathieu oversees Ketty's strength and conditioning program, developing the physical and physiological qualities she needs to perform at her highest level. He collaborates closely with her weightlifting coach, Ravi Bhollah, to ensure her S&C program complements her technical training.
At the start of her program, the primary focus was on improving upper-body stability to enhance her clean & jerk performance, alongside increasing hip mobility to refine her 🏋️♀️ squatting mechanics. A range of core training variations were incorporated to improve her hip stability and to reduce the risk of injury as her preparation for the Commonwealth Games 2026 becomes increasingly demanding. More recently, Mathieu has introduced bar speed monitoring using GymAware's Velocity-Based Training (VBT) system, as well as Counter movement Jump (CMJ) testing, to assess Ketty's level of neuromuscular freshness during the competition phase. This data helps guide training decisions, ensuring that strength and conditioning sessions prioritise quality, specificity and optimal training load rather than simply increasing volume.
