It's that time of year again. D-3 🇷🇪

The big October mass in Reunion Island is almost upon us.

✅ Race gear – check
✅ SIS hydration & nutrition – check
✅ Polar watch – check
🚀 Departure: tomorrow, 11h

For those who followed along, my 2025 Grand Raid was epic — and absolutely nothing like I'd planned. So this year, I made a few tweaks in the final weeks of preparation.

For the 2026 edition, I'm not chasing a PB (good thing too — the course has a brand new section 👀). This year, performance isn't the goal. The goal is simply to spend a few days on this intense island, surrounded by the incredible people I fell in love with a few years back.

This will be my 6th participation and my shot at a 4th finish — hopefully a 5th medal.

People often ask me: "Why do you put yourself through this??"

Honestly? Only 10% is about the race.

The other 90%?
🌋 Landscapes that blow your mind
🍲 Traditional food cooked over woodfire
🤝 The kindness of the people
🎉 Villagers cheering you on at any hour, day or night
🍰 Homemade gâteau patates and refreshments handed to you on the trail
🍺 Those final metres before La Redoute — and that first sip of b**r after the finish line

That's the Grand Raid. It gets under your skin, and it never lets go.

So here we go again. Reunion, let's do this.

Let's bring the 5th medal home. 🏅

Today we nailed the Plyometrics workout, tough but so rewarding for the kid's 🔥

CIEL Ferney Trail 2026 – Teamwork, efficiency and effectiveness 🔥

I had the honour of being appointed Race Director for the Ferney Trail 2026. At first, I must admit that I was intimidated by the scale of this event and what it would take to make it a success. But then I was onboarded with the different teams. The awesome teamwork made the whole setup so fluid and efficient that the pieces of the puzzle all came together naturally.

Despite the rain, extreme mud and the few odds we had to tackle on the spot, the event stood up to its reputation as one of the oldest and most favoured trail events in Mauritius.

Long live CIEL Ferney Trail ❤️

📢 Kids Fit October 😎

We kicked off this month's Kids Fit sessions with a one-hour callisthenics workout — adapted for our young champions, of course. It was no walk in the park 🥵 but these mighty kids powered through the entire set without quitting 💪🏻

Well, training felt kind of like holidays this morning, blue sky, shining hot sun, heated pool and an easy 40-minute recovery swim 😎

And just like that, we’ve reached the last Thursday of the month! Today was our hiking day, and we're closing the September chapter.
But we’re also very excited to start a new month. Personally, October is one of the best 😉

Felt pretty lazy this morning, but when there's a village race happening in three weeks, you find the motivation to get out and do some running 😎
On the bright side, the weather was outstanding: colours bright and the sun shining and hot!
