The mirror-like ocean these days provides perfect conditions for watching and photographing the fascinating spinner dolphins, which gather in huge pods in our atoll. Spinner dolphins are one of the smallest dolphin species. They get their name from their habit of jumping out of water and spinning - a behaviour which is thought to attract mates, or to dislodge parasites or remoras.
