Photos from Maattey's post 30/05/2026

On 22nd May 2026, we successfully concluded the Coaching Enhancement Camp held in Laamu Fonadhoo under the Pension Office Project Cycle 2025. ⚽🌴

Despite challenging weather conditions throughout the program, the commitment, resilience, and dedication shown by both participants and facilitators made this camp a meaningful and rewarding experience.

The camp focused on leadership, team building, and football coaching education aimed at strengthening grassroots football development within the community.

We are proud to share that a total of 7 coaches, including 1 female coach, successfully completed the program and received their certificates of completion. 👏🏽🏅

These newly trained coaches now take an important step forward in contributing towards the development of young football players and creating more inclusive sporting opportunities within their communities.

A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed towards the success of this initiative.

Special thanks to Laamu Apex Sports Academy for their invaluable support provided for us to host the kids festival at their home grounds and providing their players to play in the festival!

The Coaching Enhancement Camp officially commenced on 14th May 2026 with leadership and team-building sessions aimed at strengthening communication, teamwork, and leadership skills among participants. 💪⚽

During the first two days, evening and night sessions were conducted despite extremely challenging weather conditions affecting Laamu Fonadhoo. Unfortunately, several planned outdoor activities had to be cancelled due to the severe weather, and travel difficulties also resulted in limited participant attendance during some sessions. This created additional challenges for the facilitators in conducting the sessions as originally planned.

Nevertheless, the commitment shown by both the facilitators and participants reflected the true spirit of resilience, learning, and community development.

From 17th May onwards, the football coaching sessions officially began and will continue until 22nd May 2026, focusing on practical coaching methods and grassroots football development.

Conducted under the Building Resilient and Inclusive Communities Project – Pension Office Grant Cycle 2025, the camp is empowering 19 participants, including 3 female participants, with the knowledge and skills needed to become basic football coaches and contribute towards the development of grassroots football in their communities. 🌴⚽
