As a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, we echo the concerns raised by PADI regarding the proposed reopening of the gulper shark fishery. 

The Maldives’ Shark Sanctuary is fundamental to our nation’s reputation as a premier dive destination and is vital for the health of our marine ecosystems. We believe protecting our sharks is essential for both our environment and our economy. 

As we have for the past ten years, we are fully committed to working alongside the government to safeguard our precious marine resources.

Our September PADI Instructor Development Course here in Fulidhoo, Maldives with Course Director Ali Miuraj culminated in all candidates passing with flying colours! We caught up with Shiyah, one our newly certified PADI Instructors, to give us a glimpse into life during a PADI IDC!

And that’s a wrap! 7 new PADI instructors in the house! Everyone absolutely smashed the second day of the IE today, with fantastic results!

We’re extremely proud of this batch of wonderful candidates, and the dive centre will feel quiet without them!

And as Padi regional manager and IE examiner Matt Wenger said in his closing speech: now it’s time to get out and teach!

Right in front of our dive centre is the most incredible lagoon- and on this day, visibility was just incredible- and we even had a couple of nurse sharks and stingrays glide by. Perfection!
