The league is expected to kick off on Sunday, 24 May 2026.

The Southern Region Football Association has unveiled a K100 million sponsorship partnership with FINCA Malawi for the region’s Premier Division League.

Out of the package, K40 million will go directly into football sponsorship while K60 million will support financial inclusion and growth of the SME sector.

A total of K16 million has been allocated for prizes, with the champions receiving K8 million, while the top eight teams will also get prize money.

The league will now be called the *FINCA Southern Region Premier League “Mpira Uyake!
