U-12 Football Festival
Community Sports Leaders Africa - Chitipa Malawi Project, through CDYFC organised its first U-12 football Festival for the year 2023.
The event was Graced by CDYFC Vice Chairperson Mr Gibson Simbeye and his fellow Committee members; the G.S, V.G.S and TG, Senior Coaches from Impala, Nyabinghi Warriors, Chitipa Hammers, White Movers, Santos, Young Stars, Impala & Real Stars. Coach Rasta Wachisa Munkhonya doubled up as the point Coordinator for Community Sports Leaders Africa as well as youth coach instructor.
11 Teams managed to participate in the event; Chitipa Hammers, Nyabinghi Warriors, Sundowns, White Movers, Santos, Namuyemba, Impala, Young Stars, Real Stars, Chipwe and Alimwene Stars. Alimwene and Chipwe were debutants.
The games were played on an 8-Aside Format and goalkeepers guarding the mini goals. The event was a success and we hope to build on that.
Very soon a coaching program for our youth coaches will ensue, for this reason we would like to emphasise that senior coaches should touch base with interested youth coaches in their respective teams and encourage them to participate as they as well participate. Be on the look out.

Nyabinghi Warriors (champions of U-17), White Movers (Runners -Up) & 3rd placed Impala walked away with MK200,000, MK125,000 & MK75,000 respectively.
After the prize presentation, Young Stars (U-14 FIFA-FAM Champions), Nyabinghi Warriors (U-17 NYFA Mmera Mpoyamba Champions) & Chitipa Hammers (U-23 District FAM Champions) were awarded New Football Kits by Community Sports Leaders Africa.
All the 3 District champions have U-12 teams that are active participants in the Community Sports Leaders Africa U-12/grassroot football Development Project that sees participating teams benefiting coaching trainings, football equipment (cons, bibs, boots, full football kits) and exposure to the right global standards of football.
Andy Bottomer & Community Sports Leaders Africa community in the UK, Rasta Wachisa Munkhondya & Rowland Harawa we cant thank you enough but feel it that the district through CDYFC appreciate the support alot. Keep on making the dreams of many a reality.
Thank you

Good Morning Comrades
*UNDER-12 FOOTBALL FESTIVAL*
Chitipa District Youth Football Committee in partnership with Community Sports Leaders Africa would like to inform all Under-12 teams that bennefited from the football equipment donated by Community Sports Leaders Africa that there will be a football festival of which they are to participate in.
All the jerseys that were given to the teams should be brought on the day of the festival as these are the only official jerseys that would be allowed to be worn during games.
The festival will start in the afternoon, as soon as 12:30, responsible adults from these teams are therefore tasked to make sure that all kids have eaten early and have brought enough water to carry them for the day.
Having seen that teams previously complained of seing the message late on this forum, I took the initiative of calling most of the teams that have under-12s, so Wachisa Rasta has been assured of great participation.
*Failure to take part in these festivals is detrimental to our district football development as these U-12s have no tournament that can help us in checking and tracking progress of both players and youth coaches*
Building our U-14s begins with our active participation in the U-12 Festivals
