Kung’unde Chooses Bullets Over Silver Strikers.

Bullets have completed the signing of defender Ahmad Kung’unde, beating competition from Silver Strikers to secure his services.

The 24-year-old centre-back has been without a club since his contract with Mighty Wanderers officially ended on 16 September 2025. Kung’unde was sidelined during the entire second round of the season at Wanderers due to circumstances that limited his involvement with the team.

Sources close to the deal have confirmed that all agreements are now in place. Kung’unde has signed a three-year contract with Bullets, which will officially commence on 1 March 2026.

Bullets have already paid a K8.6 million signing-on fee, with the club now awaiting final clearance after settling outstanding payments to Chitiyo, expected to be completed this week. Once the February transfer window opens, Bullets are set to officially announce the signing of Kung’unde, along with other new recruits.

The move marks a fresh start for the talented defender as Bullets continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

Head Coach Bob Mpinganjira says his side will fight tooth and nail when they face Silver Strikers FC in the FDH Bank Cup finale at Bingu National Stadium on Sunday.

Addressing the media on Saturday in Lilongwe, Mpinganjira says it's time the shelves at Lali Lubani Road tasted the glory of FDH Bank Cup.

"It will be difficult, just like every game is. However, my boys realize what is at stake. Bringing the FDH Cup home will be an honorable thing to do. Our Club President [Dr. Thomson Mpinganjira] has always wanted that we bring the cup home and this time around, everyone in our camp is determined to do so. We have reached the final for the first time since the cup was introduced and we are a step away from lifting it."

Reacting to the assertion that Silver Strikers has mostly been a better side over Wanderers in the recent past, Mpinganjira says his team will not allow history take centre stage in the Sunday encounter.

"Yes, Wanderers may have not faired well against Silver Strikers in the past games but each game is a new game. We will not allow history cloud our mindset. We are determined to do well. We have been speaking to our players and everyone is ready to work hard and achieve a positive outcome."

Meanwhile, first vice captain, Felix Zulu who flanked his coach during the presser, says time has come for Wanderers to bask in FDH Bank Cup glory.

"Our President has given us enough motivation throughout this journey and my peers are highly motivated as we go to the battle on Sunday. We will however not be carried away by the recent victories against our rivals, we need to work hard and win the cup."
