Over the past few weeks, we have followed and supported all three regional pre season Bonanzas for elite league. These tournaments must be respected as they are critical platforms for coaches and players to assess readiness ahead of the league season.

They mirror the structured pre season competitions seen in Europe, and I see strong potential for sponsors to secure naming rights and gain meaningful brand visibility.

Kudos to the Super League of Malawi EXCO and club officials for delivering this initiative. This is only the beginning these pre season Bonanzas will grow bigger and better, and with the calendar alignment drive by Football Association of Malawi, do not be surprised to see international teams participating in the near future.

Sports Plus is proud to have been part of all three regions, and we will be back next year.

FAM Awards 2025

It’s heartwarming to see young musicians in Malawi working together and genuinely promoting one another from pushing each other’s song releases to showing up for each other’s shows. That unity is powerful.

“Alone we can go fast, but together we go far.”

There’s a lesson here for all of us. When collaboration replaces competition driven by ego, progress becomes collective.

Can Malawians learn from these young musicians? Absolutely. Unity builds movements.

Today our academy graduate Moffat Kante Mnyontho made his senior debut for Silver Strikers against Zimbabwean Premier League side CAPS United — a moment every pathway developer dreams about. 

From structured MMM training to first-team minutes in an international friendly, this is what deliberate development looks like.

For the love of community football , last week I joined the Goshen team’s talent scouting bonanza in Balaka . At halftime, two things were lined up: a short address from Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and a performance by Gwamba.

As they stood side by side, Prophet Bushiri turned to Gwamba and said, “Can I go first? Because once you take the stage, pavuta pano… pasokonekera.”

That moment stayed with me.

Here was Bushiri a global brand in business and religion openly acknowledging the power and influence of an artist in his own lane. No ego. No competition. Just respect.

That is maturity.
That is confidence.
That is leadership.

When you are secure in your calling, you are not threatened by someone else’s greatness. You recognize it. You honor it. You position it correctly.
