Chawinga Sisters On Song
OL Lyonnes' Malawi star, Tabitha Chawinga's contribution in the UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL), especially in a vital 4-0 extra time victory over Wolfsburg proved decisive as they are now in the final.
Lyon had lost the first leg of their quarter-final against the German side 1-0 before a goal from Lily Johannes gave the French champions a 1-0 second leg win in regulation time, sending the match to an extra 30 minutes.
Thereafter, goals from Melchie Dumornay, Damaris Egurrola and Chawinga secured a 4-0 win for Lyon in the second leg and a 4-1 aggregate triumph.
They marched on to the semi-finals, where they lost their first leg 2-1 to Arsenal but won the second 3-1 to set up a final against Barcelona.
OL Lyonnes into UEFA women's Champions League final with epic comeback vs. Arsenal. OL Lyonnes came from behind to stun Arsenal in the second leg of the UEFA Women's Champions League semi-final.
Temwa Chawinga returned to NWSL action from injury in April and hit the ground running with an assist in the Current's 2-1 win over Gotham FC.
Gotham had taken a 29th minute lead before the Malawi star met a cross in from the right and flicked on exquisitely for Debinha to equalise in the 37th minute. Michelle Cooper then scored what proved to be the winner around the hour-mark to cap Chawinga's triumphant return - still her most influential performance since coming back.

Big Moment for Malawian Women Football
Despite a tough 3-1 defeat to Tabitha Chawinga's Olympique Lyonnais Féminin, there’s still plenty to celebrate!
Rose Kadzere and her side Montpellier HSC Féminines SURVIVED the drop and remain in the D1 Arkema league next season!
Finishing 10th with 15 points, level with relegation bound RC Lens Féminines, Montpellier stayed up on goal difference after Lens suffered a heavy 6-2 defeat to Paris FC Féminines. Meanwhile, AS Saint-Étienne Féminines drop to the lower division with 13 points after a heartbreaking late equalizer in a 1-all draw against Fleury FC.
This is more than survival, it’s resilience, character, and proof that Malawian talent continues to shine on the big stage!
Congratulations Rose! You’ve made the nation proud. The journey continues, stronger, sharper, and ready for more!

The Cost of Panic: A Coach’s Perspective
We talk a lot about ambition, standards and winning in football.
But let me ask you something uncomfortable, When did we stop valuing process?
I see it everywhere, a few bad results, a tough start, and suddenly the solution is to sack the coach. Replace him. Reset everything. Start again. As if success lives in the next appointment.
Here’s the truth from inside the game:
A coach doesn’t just deliver results, builds understanding, habits and belief.
And none of those things happen overnight.
Yes, there are exceptions, the “perfect starts,” the instant impact stories. But they are just that, exceptions. For every quick success, there are dozens of projects that needed time, struggle, and patience before they became something meaningful.
We forget that even the best coaches you admire today, they failed, struggled and learned under pressure first.
So what are we really doing when we sack early?
We’re not fixing a problem, but interrupting a process.
Clubs invest in players, infrastructure, and branding, but hesitate to invest in time. And yet, time is the one thing that allows everything else to make sense.
I understand expectations, pressure and targets but if you hire a coach, truly back him or her because you can’t demand identity, cohesion, and consistency and at the same time deny the one thing required to build them.
Time doesn’t guarantee success but without it, success is almost impossible.
Maybe the real question isn’t: “Why isn’t s/he winning yet?”
Maybe it’s: “Have we given him or her a real chance to build something?”

In today’s football landscape, identifying talent early is no longer just an advantage, it’s a necessity.
Clubs, agencies, and analysts are constantly looking for players who not only perform today, but who can adapt, evolve, and create impact in the future game model.
My goal is to support this process through a data-driven and structured scouting methodology, combining video analysis, performance indicators, and contextual evaluation.
I have scouting reports templates that are built to provide actionable insights, not just descriptions and focused on 4 pillars designed to go beyond traditional observation.
○ Tactical Behavior
How the player interprets space, roles, and game phases
○ Technical Ex*****on
Efficiency, consistency, and decision-making under pressure
○ Physical Profile
Athletic traits in relation to match demands
○ Development Potential
Projection within different tactical systems and levels
This approach allows us to create a clear, objective, and scalable evaluation model, supporting both recruitment and player development processes.
Scouting today is not just about identifying talent, it’s about understanding context, projecting development, and reducing decision-making risk.
Data alone is not enough. Video alone is not enough. The real value comes from integrating both into a structured evaluation framework.
If you’re working in scouting, recruitment, or performance analysis, Halla at me if you are interested.
