Whatever we might describe as fear, we might, to a lesser degree, call 'tension' or 'stress' or even, 'the unknown' or 'unfamiliar' .
This poem reminds me of when our path might change direction, or call to us to follow another way, to explore the 'other' with curiosity, or face a challenge and not turn away.
I found a beautiful rendition of this poem, spoken, with the background of a white water kayaker in a raging river rapids, and had to write about it again, to describe a particular conversation I'm having with the sea.
I'm discovering something so wildly curious in my freedive training, that speaks to me so deeply that I will come back to this poem again, and bring another visual dimension to this already sublime expression, but of the silence within when we are able to welcome without fear, the sea inside of us.

It is a living, vibrating system in communication with everything in it, most of which understands its messages. We lost that ability when we stopped listening and disregarded our part in it and started to invade, to take more, and give less, let alone, be thankful. As freedivers we too often push into its embrace when neither are ready, and injuries occur. She, the Ocean, is and isnt an expression of Light and pressure, and waits patiently, whilst so many continue to cough and spit themselves out of the water. I'm slow to explore my story in hers, but every immersion gives an invaluable response, where interocepcion touches consciousness.
'Ignorance' Is Most Pressing Issue Facing Ocean Conservation, Says Sylvia Earle

The Painted Sail.
Raising awareness for the state of how we are with our environment.
If anyone outside planet Earth were watching, they'd really think we are absolutely out of our minds but more tragically, so far from where our hearts should be.

In those hang dives
Most specifically for me when RV training has begun to feel deeply silent, where, like an emotiinal release, that experience becomes freeing. No frills or cheers or entourage. No searching to be with anyone or anything, no spectacular chase around the world for those great marine mammals and their songs, no seeking, no gallantry, no paraphanalia. Any expectation of something, a reward, a goal, already has dissolved and there is just the vibration of that space where we become almost nothing.
I feel the messages from the ocean also hang in that space.
Has anyone heard of the phenomenon of the “blue pearl”, or experienced it for themselves? After encountering this first about 15 years ago in deep hang dives, and talking and writing about it since then (I was calling it the ‘blue speck’) I recently heard that it is a documented part of meditation.

I’ll write a full blog post on it soon!

Lets talk about conservation awareness and what it takes to make small changes in your day to day decisions, so you affect a small ripple that will inevitably extend to join the bigger wave of Change that this world needs.
