DIVEMASTER INTERNSHIP | YUCATÁN DIVE CREW

There comes a point in diving when the next step is no longer about simply becoming a better diver.

It's about learning how to become a professional.

We're opening applications for our Divemaster Internship in Mérida, Yucatán — an immersive training experience for Rescue Divers who want to take that next step while becoming part of a real dive operation.

Becoming a Divemaster involves much more than mastering skills and completing a certification.

It's learning how to work with people. How to recognize what a diver needs before they ask. How to organize a day of diving from beginning to end. How to communicate clearly, solve problems, take responsibility and gradually become someone others can rely on.

That's the part of the profession we want to teach.

During the program, you'll train alongside experienced instructors and become involved in the daily operation of Yucatán Dive Crew: assisting with courses, supporting certified divers, preparing equipment, organizing logistics, working with guests from around the world and experiencing everything that happens behind a professional diving operation.

And because this is Yucatán, the cenotes will naturally become part of your classroom.

You'll dive. You'll assist. You'll observe. You'll make decisions. You'll learn.

The objective isn't simply to log more dives.

It's to learn the profession by living it.

What you'll develop

• Professional-level Divemaster knowledge and skills
• Hands-on experience in real dive operations
• Dive planning, briefings and group management
• Experience assisting instructors and working with certified divers
• Equipment preparation and operational logistics
• Customer service and communication
• Leadership, judgment and problem-solving
• Experience working with an international clientele
• Direct mentorship throughout the process

Who we're looking for

We're not looking for a specific type of person or an impressive diving résumé.

We're looking for someone responsible, curious, proactive, comfortable working with people and genuinely interested in growing within the diving industry.

Requirements:

• 21 years or older
• Rescue Diver or equivalent
• First Aid & CPR training meeting Divemaster requirements
• Valid driver's license and comfortable driving a manual transmission
• Good physical condition for diving and daily operations
• Willingness to participate in the entire operation — not only the diving
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• English and Spanish
• French is a strong plus
• Availability to live in Mérida for the duration of the program

The internship is available in different formats, from an intensive training experience to a longer immersion in the operation. We'll discuss the format, commitment and conditions individually with selected applicants.
