🙌🏽🥋This Kaihewalu Family photo is being added to the expanded ‘Ōlohe Kaihewalu’s Hawaiian Martial Arts Exhbit at the Martial Arts History Museum’s new location in Glendale, California.

Also added to the exhibit are two weapons by Kumu Ron Burns and two weapons by Kumu Greg Shaner. 🙏🏽

Happy Birthday to our ‘Ōlohe, Solomon Kaihewalu.

‘Ōlohe, and his ‘ohana (family), endured much in bringing his family’s Lua art to the continent.

He fed us his ‘Ike (knowledge).

He trusted us with his generational knowledge.

He expected us to walk in and with ‘āno (integrity).

He believed in us.

In his remembrance, may we honor him by always thinking, talking, walking, and doing in the way that would make him pleased he taught and trusted us with his knowledge.
