Stan Wawrinka Backhand Preparation 🎾
1. Full body turn: Stan has a great body turn and ensures he’s fully side on with his body in the preparation. Often his back will turn slightly towards the net, with his chin resting above his right shoulder
2. Racket head above grip: this creates plenty of space for Stan to build racket head speed, and it makes it much easier for him to attack higher balls with this style of preparation
3. Left hand holding throat: this helps massively with the preparation, the weight of the racket can be held with the off hand, ensuring the hitting hand can stay relaxed. It also makes getting the racket back early, much easier and more efficient
4. Front foot: Stan has a great weight transfer on his backhand, by starting with his weight on the back leg (left) and stepping into the shot at the last moment with his front foot (right) it ensures he gets his weight behind the ball

The Novak Djokovic Backhand 🎯
🚀 One of the greatest backhands in history and an incredible shot to learn from
🎯 Djokovic prepares for the backhand with his racket head higher than the grip above the grip. This gives him plenty of space to accelerate and makes attacking higher balls much easier
🎯 Djokovic has a great body turn, getting fully side on with his trunk, which helps him create rotational power from his core muscles
🚀 Djokovic loads up on his back leg extremely well, and transfer his body weight into the ball as he makes contact
🎯 Make sure to save this post for later

Karolina Muchova’s power position on the smash 🎾
Left hand - Your non hitting hand plays a vital role on the overhead smash in tennis. It helps you to balance the upper body, stay upright, and helps you track the ball and judge the distance between yourself and the oncoming ball
Racket head - The racket head should be above the grip in the power position, creating the ideal position to accelerate from. Much like the power position on the serve
Left shoulder - Getting side on with your body is crucial to hitting a solid smash. To ensure this is achieved, make sure you’re tracking the ball from over your left shoulder, so the entire arm is across the body line
Elbow position - imagine throwing a ball, you want to have the elbow bent to around a 90 degree angle, ready to launch into the smash
