UOB Mexican Society The Mexican Society at the University of Birmingham is committed to be a gathering entity for the Mexican community and for anyone interested in our culture, traditions and history. For that purpose, the MexSoc organises regular gatherings on campus (normally at Bratby in Staff House), friendly football matches, social events/parties, reunions to present member’s current and previous academic research works, as well as film screening sessions. Within its social media profile, the MexSoc shares academic and newspaper articles to show features of the Mexican contemporary phenomena, schedule its activities and shares their outcomes.

The current administrative staff is:
President: Cecilia Zúñiga – PhD in Psychology (1st year)
Secretary: Emanuel Bourges – PhD in Political Science and International Studies (1st year)
Treasurer and sports officer: Giovani Palafox – PhD in Engineering (1st year)

We are happy to announce our latest transfer. Gio Palafox has finally accepted a multimillionaire offer to be part of the Drunkers again. Usually, he plays as a forward, but he can be an attacking midfielder as well. Back in autumn 2012, he attended the DTFC try outs, but his club Chivas didn’t allow him to stay in Brum.
A former member of the team, and current scout, was in charge of the negotiations.
