Knee injuries are a major problem in sports and sports medicine around the world. Many sportspeople use a knee support in an attempt to reduce the re-occurrence or severity of injuries to the knee without inhibiting knee mobility.

The most common knee support in use by athletes is the knee sleeve. You are almost certain to see someone wearing one at any gym.

To be clear, knee sleeves are not the same thing as knee braces. Knee braces are designed and used to protect a previous injury from further damage. A knee sleeve provides support but does not function in the same way a knee brace would. Knee sleeves protect the knee from injury or risk of damage.
