日曜日にメリダマヤ博物館に行ってしました！
名前の通りマヤ文明に関する博物館でしたが、想像以上に見応えがありかなり楽しめました☺️
マヤの文字の成り立ちや、当時の人々がどのような人生を送っていたか、スペイン侵略後の変化など、かなり幅広く展示されていました。
チチェンイッツァとセットで行きたい博物館です！
またリピートしたいと思えるアタリ博物館でした！✨

Hola! I’m Aya.
I went to the Gran Museo del Mundo Maya in Mérida on Sunday!
As the name suggests, it’s a museum about the Maya civilization, but it was even more fascinating and impressive than I expected ☺️
The exhibits covered a wide range of topics, including the origins of the Maya writing system, how people lived in those times, and the changes that happened after the Spanish conquest.
It’s definitely a museum worth visiting together with Chichén Itzá!
It turned out to be such a great museum that I’d love to visit again someday ✨

本日のメリダは先週と変わり、涼しくなりました！雨のおかげですね☔✨
さて先週の金曜日と土曜日の夜は、メリダでLa noche blancaという文化イベントがありました。深夜までライブや出し物が行われたり、道端で映画が流れたりします。
至る所で見せ物があり、気軽に街を歩くだけでとても楽しめました。
年に2回行われるそうなので、メリダでの滞在でタイミングが被った際には夜の街歩きを楽しんでみてください⭐️

Hi! This is Aya.
The weather in Mérida today has become cooler compared to last week, thanks to the rain ☔✨
Also, last Friday and Saturday nights, Mérida hosted a cultural event called La Noche Blanca. There were live performances and shows running late into the night, and even movies being projected on the streets.
There were performances everywhere, so just walking around the city casually was really enjoyable.
It only happens twice a year, so if your stay in Mérida happens to coincide with it, I highly recommend enjoying a night walk through the city ⭐️

市場や博物館に行ったり、ご飯を食べたり！

We had the day off from language school today, so I got to spend a full free day enjoying Mérida!
I went to the market, visited some museums, and had lots of good food. Since the heat here is pretty intense, I tried to get most things done in the cooler morning hours, which made for such a nice and fulfilling day ☺️

本日はメリダで『たま食堂』という日本食レストランに行ってきました。レストランというよりかは、日本の食堂そのものです。
この投稿の写真を見て、日本の投稿だと思った方も多いのでは？☺️笑
内装もすごく日本っぽくて、日本に帰ってきたような安心感があります。
肝心の味も美味しくて、久々の日本の味がとっても沁みました。

Hi! I’m Aya.
Today I went to a Japanese restaurant in Mérida. Rather than a typical restaurant, it felt just like a Japanese diner.
The interior was also very Japanese-style, and it gave me the comforting feeling of being back in Japan.
Most importantly, the food was delicious, and the authentic Japanese flavors really hit home after such a long time.

それも正解ですが、最近はお猿のパンチ君も人気のようです🐵❤️
みなさんご存知でしょうか？
ぬいぐるみで寂しさを紛らわせてる小さな猿が日本の動物園で大人気なのですが、メキシコでも人気が出ているとのこと！
びっくりですね🐒💚

My language school experience in Mérida is going very well.
By the way, when you think of popular Japanese things overseas, what comes to mind? 🇯🇵
Anime? Ramen?
Those are definitely correct, but recently a little monkey named Punch has also become very popular 🐵❤️
Have you heard of him?
He’s a small monkey at a Japanese zoo who comforts himself with stuffed animals when he feels lonely, and he has become hugely popular. Apparently, he’s even gaining popularity in Mexico too!
Pretty surprising, isn’t it? 🐒💚

I came to Mérida yesterday to attend a language school for two weeks! 🇲🇽
The cityscape here is completely different from Playa del Carmen, and even the weather feels so different that it almost seems like another country 🤯

アメリカで初🌮Taco Bell🔔

日本へ一時帰国の途中、
ヒューストンで1泊することに。

ホテルの窓から見えたのは、
あの有名なTaco Bell。

存在は知っていましたが、
実は今回が初挑戦でした！

メキシコの本場タコスとは違い、
ひき肉＆パリパリ生地のアメリカ風。

久しぶりに食べるハードシェルのタコスは新鮮でした✨

「あ、これがタコライスっぽさの原点かも？」
なんて想像しながら美味しく完食。

メキシコのタコスとはまた別ジャンルですが、
これはこれでアリでした🌮

First time trying Taco Bell in the US 🌮

During my trip back to Japan,
I stayed one night in Houston for transit.

Right outside the hotel was the famous Taco Bell.

Unlike authentic Mexican tacos,
these are American-style with ground beef and crispy shells.

It felt nostalgic and surprisingly good!

I even thought,
“Maybe this is how taco rice was inspired?” 😂

Different from real Mexican tacos,
but still delicious in its own way.
