Do it even though you’re not the best.
Do it even though you’re uncomfortable.
Do it even though you’re busy.
Do it because it’s important to someone.

Dusted off the cobwebs last night . TaeKwonDo is not my thing, but I can learn. It’s important to my husband, and important to my kids. If it’s important enough that they attend class, by god it’s important for me to show up too.

Plus, what other sport can I participate in with them? I can’t join the soccer team…trust me, I checked. 😂

Still here. Still putting in the work. Still showing up for fitness because it’s my therapy. Still can’t believe this place is how I contribute to my family. Like, how did that even happen? 🤯

you are home. ❤️

(Also, absolutely obsessed with this cherry set from !)

Let me ask you something and be honest! Are your reps always “competition reps”? If you were being judged on your performance during your everyday training, would you hear “NO REP!”? Do you cut those tiny corners on a 400m run? Do you cheat your reps when the coach isn’t looking?

I don’t understand it.

Hear me out. I’m not saying that every workout needs to be performed at a “competition pace”. That’s unrealistic. Some days and some workouts you feel better than others. I get it.

But to perform quality, “competition reps” that are the proper range of motion, with proper form, and are beneficial to your body and your overall progress…that should be a no-brainer.

I’ll never understand people that cut corners. The only thing being cheated is you and your potential.

I must be a glutton for punishment for signing up for a competition before knowing there was a 3,000m row involved. 😵

I honestly thought I was going to get sick in the middle of this. Everyone around me screaming, cheering, and coaching me through it made me feel claustrophobic- like I was in a bubble and couldn’t breathe.

But at the same time, there’s no freaking way I would have pushed that hard without , , , , and right beside me! They knew I needed it. 😮‍💨

Thanks for the good time, . I still hate you. 😂

Are you stuck?

Feeling like you “don’t eat that bad”.

Working out regularly but not seeing the physical change you want?

Unable to stick with a diet?

Cutting out calories and food groups just to get to your goal weight?

Always searching for the next quick fix to get you to where you want to be?

I hear and see it all the time!

I’m not a “sales-y” person. I hate selling mainly because I never want to come off as pushy or like a know-it-all. I’m not.

But when I overhear conversations or see people that work SO👏🏼DAMN👏🏼HARD👏🏼 in the gym and still strive for more progress, I want to scream.

Inside I’m BEGGING you to reach out and ask for help.

You’re gonna have to make the first move. The ball is in YOUR court. I’m always here, ready and willing to help you find-tune the nutrition piece of the puzzle you’ve been missing. You just have to really be ready, and act.

Link to apply for nutrition coaching is in my bio. I have two openings coming up! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏽

It’s hard to imagine now, but back in the day, I was the only coach Midtown Athletics]]. All the classes, every day….for like, a week. Then I quickly realized I needed help! 😂

I hired to help a few mornings and evenings per week to start and I slowly added another, and another, and another. I transitioned myself out of a coaching job real quick and threw myself into the business side of things and nutrition coaching full-time. Midtown Athletics was poppin’!

Now, almost 5 years later, I’M BACK and it feels damn good. Okay, okay, so it’s only one morning per week but that feels like something I can commit to right now, along side my other priorities - and there are a lot, lemme tell ya’.

This morning was my first morning back on the schedule Midtown Athletics]] and it filled my cup more than any of the athletes in my classes even knew!

I adore coaching - it brings me so much joy. Leading and encouraging but more importantly, correcting, challenging and improving every single soul that walks in those doors is my only goal.

I’m not a passive coach. I won’t stand in the back and let you do it wrong. I won’t let you hurt yourself. And I damn sure won’t let you cheat yourself by doing less that what you’re capable of doing.

If you need that kind of push, and you want that kind of accountability, come see me! Come see us Midtown Athletics]]!

I don’t know who needs to hear this today but, “Let it be hard.”.

Coach said this to us this morning during class and it lit a fire inside me. How simple of a phrase is that?

Let it be hard.

Our bodies are designed to seek out homeostasis. When things get hard, our body searches for and creates a way to get balance back. It shows face by letting you experience fear, pain, discomfort, nervousness, increased heart rate, and a fight or flight response.

What’s cool about the human body is the stress you experience during exercise is short lived. Your body recovers and the best part - it adapts. It grows stronger and gets better so that the next time you experience that same “hard”, you’re better equipped to handle it.

That’s growth. That’s progress. That’s what it’s all about!

If you constantly stop yourself the moment that discomfort hits and never “let it be hard”, you’ll never move forward.

If you never continue to push when the reps become hard, you’ll never get stronger. Let it be hard. That’s where change happens.

What’s something that’s hard for you? Something you know you can improve but it’s going to take real grit to push through? Maybe it’s sticking to your macros today. Maybe it’s not opening a bottle of wine tonight. Maybe it’s getting your butt to the gym. Maybe it’s not quitting when the reps get hard. Maybe it’s sticking to your spending budget. Whatever it is - let’s hear it! ⬇️
