Turtles are pretty common here in Cozumel. Especially in the spring apparently! We get three different kinds here, being the Hawksbill, the Green and the Loggerhead sea turtles. Since they all look like turtles and no one wants to count plates between their eyes, I have devised a different method. Let’s apply said method, in order to establish just what kind of ridiculous turtle this is, let’s use my official and very specific method to work out which turtle it was we saw yesterday. Without further ado:
Laura’s Very Scientific Method of Identifying Turtles
1. If it looks like a stereotypical beaky turtle, and it’s not that big, it’s probably a Hawksbill
2. If it looks like a stereotypical turtle, is very clean and is absolutely enormous, it’s probably a Green sea turtle
3. If it’s definitely a turtle but it looks like it’s a 1000 years old, or that there’s something wrong with it, it’s probably a Loggerhead sea turtle.
4. If none of the above, omg please go tell someone else on the dive.
Probably a loggerhead.

So I've got something new going on over here. I've been having a lot of people ask me about how to prepare for really advanced diving, like the Galapagos, and so on. I have a new answer to that. I now am offering Scuba Bootcamp! A week of diving where we start with perfecting buoyancy, trim and air consumption, then start ramping up the intensity of the dives. We'll go deep, we'll handle currents, we'll dive the wreck, we'll night dive, you name it. At the same time, I'll throw problems at you, for you to solve. The graduation dive will be on one of Cozumel's advanced reefs, the one's that aren't often advertised.

This Blue Parrotfish is hands down the best thing I’ve ever seen in nine years of diving. I’ve only seen him once before this, and only for a few seconds, so this blew my mind. My favourite fish ever, right there….DM for private diving to this location here in Cozumel 😎 -dive

Ok everyone, I’m actually going to hit the go button on something I’ve had in the works for a while, and can actually announce. As of now I’m officially hosting dive trips here in Cozumel! I’ve got the first official one scheduled for Nov 30 for a week, and not only is the diving going to be amazing, I’ve managed to secure a private boat, thanks to the amazing ! Included is 5 days of boat reef diving plus an extra shore dive on arrival, and I’ll be there to pick you up from the airport, collect you for diving, hold any hands as needed on the dives, the lot.
