Big news for our Three Birds flock! 🕊️💛
We’re so happy to officially welcome Sarah Shea into her new role as Studio Manager at Three Birds!
Over the past nine months, Sarah has become such a valued part of our community as a teacher. Now, she’ll be bringing her energy, experience, and love for Three Birds into a bigger role behind the scenes.
As Studio Manager, Sarah will be helping us care for the day-to-day life of the studio—from supporting our team and connecting with students to helping create the welcoming, community-centered experience we want Three Birds to be.
Don’t worry—you’ll still find her teaching, too!
We’re incredibly excited for this next chapter and so happy to have Sarah helping us continue to grow our flock.
Give her some love in the comments! 🕊️
P.S. Confused about which Sarah is which? Sarah Shea = Studio Manager. Sarah Bodnar = Co-owner. And yes, we’ll both answer when you say “Hey, Sarah!” 😂

At Three Birds, we firmly believe that social justice is an integral part of yoga. We acknowledge that the yoga community, like many others, can reflect the broader societal inequalities. To amplify and empower the voices of People of Color, we are proud to offer a substantial scholarship opportunity.
Our Yoga Teacher Training Scholarship is designed to support Black, Indigenous and People of Color in their journey to become certified yoga teachers. By offering this scholarship, we aim to create a more diverse and inclusive yoga community where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and empowered.
🧡 Scholarship Award: $1,000 toward tuition
🧡 Application Deadline: August 20, 2026
👉 Our next 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Starts October 2026!
If this opportunity speaks to you—or someone you know—we encourage you to apply or share this post.
We look forward to supporting the next generation of yoga teachers!

🎶 July Featured Playlist: Stephanie Battle 🎶
This month we're sharing a playlist from Stephanie Battle—one of our incredible instructors and co-lead of our Fall 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training.
In Stephanie's words:
"A playlist can deeply inform the shape, feeling, and trajectory of a physical yoga practice. My playlist, Turnmills is meant to disrupt the linearity of time and shift one's experience to a more circular one. I use this playlist with more physically demanding classes to bring the room into a more meditative state. This allows students to focus on the embodiment of the practice and shift away from an external, ego-based mindset."
Whether you're practicing on your mat or simply looking for music to help you slow down and reconnect, we hope this playlist becomes part of your summer.

🌈 Together, We Filled the Rainbow. 🌈
Because of you, we reached our community goal of 1,700 class attendances this Pride Month!
Our rainbow became a beautiful reminder of what happens when a community comes together with kindness, intention, and love. Every class you took helped create something bigger than ourselves.
We're proud to donate $250 to the RAIN Foundation of Essex County in support of their incredible work serving the LGBTQ+ community.
Here's to creating a world where everyone feels seen, welcomed, and celebrated. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

There’s a common assumption that yoga teacher training is only for people who want to teach yoga.
And while it can absolutely be the start of that path, it’s often so much more than that.
People come to training for all kinds of reasons:
to deepen their practice, reconnect with themselves, explore the teachings of yoga beyond asana (postures), find meaningful community, or simply make space for something deeper during a season of change.
Our Root to Rise 200hr Yoga Teacher Training begins this fall, and whether you hope to teach or simply feel called to explore, we’d love to share it with you. 💛

This immersive two‑hour workshop led by Stephanie Battle offers a focused exploration of Sun Salutation A, breaking down the postures, transitions, and subtle details that often get overlooked in a traditional 60‑minute class.
Together, we’ll dive into the heart of vinyasa: the breath—how it guides movement, shapes rhythm, and supports a sustainable, embodied flow. We’ll examine alignment from both physical and energetic perspectives, refine engagement techniques, and build the strength and stability that form the foundation of a confident practice.
Whether you’re looking to deepen your understanding of foundational postures or you’re curious about a core component of our upcoming yoga teacher training, this workshop offers a chance to learn, move, and grow in community—while honoring the light within each of us.

🎶 Instructor Spotlight: Thandi Center 🎶
Music has the power to move us—not just physically, but emotionally too. This month we're featuring one of our beloved instructors, Thandi Center, and a playlist that's especially close to her heart.
"This was the playlist I created when Three Birds hosted the fundraiser for First Friends of NJ/NY, supporting families impacted by detention and separation. I selected songs that evoke strength and resistance, echo themes of love and hope, and reflect the beautiful diversity of our country. The selection also supports the typical arc of my Vinyasa flow classes!"
We love how thoughtfully Thandi weaves music into her classes, creating an experience that inspires movement, reflection, and connection.
🎧 Listen to Thandi's playlist and explore her other curated yoga playlists on Spotify. Link in bio.
And if you'd like to practice with Thandi in person, come support her as she represents Three Birds Yoga at the 7th Annual Brick City Summer Solstice at NJPAC on June 20th from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM. We hope to see lots of our 3B flock there! Find the link to register in our bio.
💛 Have a favorite song from Thandi's classes? Let us know in the comments!

🌈 HELP US FILL THE RAINBOW 🌈
This Pride Month, every class you attend helps add color to our community rainbow and unlock donations for RAIN Foundation of Essex County . 💛
Throughout June, we’ll be filling in our rainbow together at the studio. After class, grab some chalk and:
⭐ add color to the rainbow
⭐ draw a star or heart
⭐ leave a message of support
As our community class attendance grows, so does Three Birds donation:
❤️ 250 Classes = $25
🧡 500 Classes = $50
💛 800 Classes = $75
💚 1,100 Classes = $100
💙 1,400 Classes = $125
💜 1,700+ Classes = $250
This is a collective community goal — every class attended counts toward filling the rainbow on our chalkboard together. 🌈
Move. Practice. Celebrate Together.
