This Is Ainul AINUL Mardhiah
Ainul Mardhiah looks like any other ordinary 13-year old Malaysian girl - quiet, shy and reserved. She goes to a local Government school just like the little girl next door, enjoys her nasi lemak and satay as much as as anyone else, and spends hours and hours on her mobile device just like any teenager.
But she is far from ordinary: she is a monster at chess.
In the last Malaysian Chess Championship 2023, Ainul emerged as the tournament’s undisputed women’s champion. In the world of chess, she now holds the title Women National Master (WNM). As if all this wasn’t enough for a 13-year old from Batu Pahat, wrap your head around this fact: Ainul only started playing chess 2 years ago!
And as the national women’s champion, Ainul has been invited to represent Malaysia at the upcoming FIDE YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 to be held at Montesilvano, Italy later in November this year.
But life hasn’t exactly been a bed of roses for Ainul. She certified as a disabled person due to her autism. In fact, all her for sibling are also autistic. Both Ainul’s parents have to to give up their jobs as school teachers to care for their five autistic children.
The purpose of this blog is to let Malaysians know about Ainul. Ultimately, this blog seeks to help raise funds so that Ainul will be able participate at the FIDE YOUTH CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 and to someday realise her dream to become an international Grand Master and professional chess player.
