PERAK OPEN SPECIAL OLYMPICS ID ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP 2026
11TH JULY 2026
SEKOLAH SUKAN NEGERI - SMK GUNUNG RAPAT, IPOH, PERAK.

**********

SPORT HAS THE POWER TO UNITE, INSPIRE, AND TRANSFORM LIVES.

The Perak Open Special Olympics ID Athletics Championship 2026 was far more than just a sporting event, it was a celebration of courage, inclusion, friendship, and the limitless potential of every athlete.

Bringing together hundreds of athletes with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and athletes with lower physical abilities, this championship provided an invaluable platform for participants to showcase their talents, build confidence, embrace healthy lifestyles, and experience the true joy of competition.

More importantly, it opened doors for athletes to pursue greater opportunities at national and international levels, proving that everyone deserves the chance to compete, excel, and shine.

What makes Special Olympics unique is its Divisioning System, ensuring athletes compete against others of similar ability levels. This creates meaningful, fair, safe, and enjoyable competition where every participant has the opportunity to succeed.

This championship reminds us that sport is a universal language that transcends differences. It builds friendships, strengthens communities, promotes unity, and creates a more inclusive society where every individual is respected, valued, and empowered.

As the Special Olympics Athlete Oath reminds us: "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." These powerful words perfectly reflect the determination, resilience, and fighting spirit demonstrated by every athlete throughout the championship.

As the Sports Event Consultant for this championship, Go Sport Ventures is truly honoured and proud to have been entrusted with the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of such a meaningful event.

Being part of an initiative that empowers athletes with intellectual disabilities and promotes equal opportunities through sport is both a privilege and an inspiration. We remain committed to supporting sporting events that create lasting social impact, foster inclusivity, and strengthen communities through the power of sport.

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone for the outstanding commitment and dedication in championing inclusive sports and creating meaningful opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Our sincere congratulations and deepest appreciation also go to:
1. Persatuan Penggerak Rekreasi Sejahtera Ipoh
2. Special Olympics PERAK
3. Perak Community Specialist Hospital
4. Sektor Pendidikan Khas, Jabatan Pendidikan Negeri Perak
5. All strategic partners
6. All sponsors
7. Volunteers
8. Teachers
9. Parents
10.Officials
And everyone who contributed towards the success of this remarkable championship. Your unwavering support continues to make inclusive sports a reality and inspires countless athletes to believe in themselves.

Together, we are not only building better athletes, we are building a more compassionate, united, and inclusive Malaysia. Together, we prove that ability is far greater than disability, and every athlete deserves the opportunity to dream, compete, and succeed.
