Keep reading — bounce isn’t just what your wedge says on the bottom, it changes based on face angle and shaft lean.

• Face more open = you expose more sole → more effective bounce (helps the club slide, great for soft turf/sand and high, soft shots).

• Face more closed = less sole exposed → less bounce (easier to dig, risky in soft conditions).

• More shaft lean forward (hands ahead) = de-lofts the club → reduces bounce and can make the leading edge dig.

Quick tip: if you’re chunking chips/pitches, try a touch more open face and feel the club “skim.” If you’re blading, you may be adding too much bounce or leaning back—get the handle slightly forward and keep turning through.

Throwback to this great Tiger Woods quote...

06/11/2025

Keep reading this caption if you struggle with slices, hooks, or pulling across the ball ⬇️

This is called the tee-in-grip drill, and it’s one of the best visual feedback tools for keeping your swing on plane!

🔹 Why It Works

Golfers who slice usually bring the club down too steep and cut across the ball (out-to-in path).

Those who hook tend to drop the club too far inside and swing excessively from in-to-out.

The tee drill trains you to find the middle — a neutral, on-plane downswing that leads to straighter, more consistent shots.

🔹 How To Do It

1️⃣ Place a long tee peg in the hole at the end of your grip.
2️⃣ Make a normal backswing, then pause at the top.
3️⃣ Start your downswing by pulling the tee peg toward the back of the ball.
4️⃣ As your club reaches parallel to the ground, check that the tee points straight down your target line.

🔹 The Feel

✅ Tee pointing too far left = out-to-in (slice path)
✅ Tee pointing too far right = in-to-out (hook path)
✅ Tee pointing straight down the target line = perfect on-plane swing

💡 Pro Tip: Start slow. Do this drill in front of a mirror or on the range without hitting balls first — build the feel, then add speed.

When you can keep that tee tracking down your target line, you’ll start compressing the ball pure and watching it fly dead straight 🏌️‍♂️💥

Keep reading this caption 👇 because understanding wedge bounce might be the single biggest short game hack most golfers overlook.

Bounce is the angle between the leading edge of the wedge and the lowest point of the sole — and it determines how the club interacts with the turf or sand. Pick the right bounce, and you’ll save strokes. Pick the wrong one, and you’ll chunk, skull, or blade it across the green. Let’s break it down:

⛳ Pitching Wedge (2–5° bounce)
This is your standard wedge for full swings into greens. The low bounce makes it great for tight lies and firm turf, but not ideal for fluffy sand or deep rough.

⛳ Gap Wedge (5–10° bounce)
Designed to bridge the distance between your pitching wedge and sand wedge. A mid-range bounce makes it versatile — good for partial shots, bump-and-runs, and medium turf conditions.

⛳ Sand Wedge (10–16° bounce)
Your best friend in bunkers. The high bounce prevents the leading edge from digging too deep, letting the sole “glide” through the sand. It’s also useful in soft turf conditions or wet lies where you need help avoiding fat shots.

⛳ Lob Wedge (0–10° bounce)
This is your high-loft, high-spin specialty club. Lower bounce versions are perfect for tight lies, firmer turf, and delicate flop shots. Higher bounce lob wedges are better for fluffy lies or softer ground where you need forgiveness.

💡 Quick Tip:

• Firm turf & tight lies ➡️ lower bounce wedges.

• Soft turf, fluffy rough, or bunkers ➡️ higher bounce wedges.

👉 Next time you’re buying wedges, don’t just grab whatever looks good — think about the course conditions you play most and match your bounce accordingly. The right bounce is like having the perfect tool for the job.

Keep reading this caption if you’ve ever wondered why your setup should look different with a driver versus an iron…

One of the biggest mistakes golfers make is setting up to the ball the exact same way with every club in the bag. The truth is, different clubs require different setup angles to maximize performance.

👉 Take a look at the graphic:

✅ Driver Setup:

• Club length = 45”

• Lie angle = 56°

• Ball positioned forward, with more spine tilt away from the target.

• Hands are farther from the body due to the longer shaft.

• This setup promotes an upward strike on the ball, helping you launch drives higher with less spin and more distance.

✅ 7-Iron Setup:

• Club length = 37”

• Lie angle = 62.5°

• Ball positioned more in the center of your stance.

• Hands are closer to the body with less spine tilt.

• This promotes a downward strike, compressing the ball for accuracy and control.

If you use your driver like an iron, you’ll hit down too steep and lose distance. If you use your iron like a driver, you’ll catch the ball thin or top it.

🔥 The key takeaway: Adjust your stance, posture, and ball position for each club. Long clubs = more tilt and space. Short clubs = more upright posture and precision.

💬 Do you find it harder to adjust with your driver or your irons? Comment below and let’s talk about it.

If you own a golf club, you should know every part of the face. Why? Because understanding these parts is the key to diagnosing your mish*ts and improving your ball striking. Keep Reading…

Let’s break down what each part does so you can start striking it pure ⬇

TOP EDGE

• What: Very top of the face
• Cause: Standing too far, lifting head early, steep swing
• Tip: Keep posture steady, check ball position

TOE

• What: Farthest point from hosel
• Cause: Standing too far, swaying, losing posture
• Tip: Stand closer, turn around spine, stay centered

LEADING EDGE

• What: Bottom edge meeting turf
• Cause: Too much = fat shots, too little = thin shots
• Tip: Control low point, brush grass after ball

HEEL

• What: Near hosel, inside of sweet spot
• Cause: Standing too close, inside-out path, early extension
• Tip: Set proper distance, maintain spine angle

HOSEL

• What: Shaft connection to club head
• Cause: The “Shanks” due to either over-the-top, early extension, and/or hands drifting out
• Tip: Keep arms connected, avoid lunging at the ball

SWEET SPOT

• What: The center of the face where maximum energy transfer occurs.
• Cause: Best contact point for maximum distance, control, and feel
• Tip: Use impact tape/foot spray to find and repeat strikes here

✅ Takeaway: Knowing these parts allows you to troubleshoot your swing instantly and make adjustments before your next shot.

📌 SAVE this so you can check it before your next range session.
