🎱 BINGO SNOOKER COACHING

🎯 READ THE TABLE — PLAN THE CUE BALL ROUTE

In snooker, potting the ball is only half of the job.
The real skill is knowing where the cue ball needs to finish for the next shot.

Look at the table position above. The reds are spread across the table, with the cue ball positioned on the right side.

🧠 COACHING POINTS

1️⃣ Don't look at only the current pot

Before playing the shot, ask yourself:

> “Where do I want the cue ball to be after this shot?”

A good positional shot should make your next shot easier, not simply pot the current ball.

2️⃣ Use the colours as positional reference

The Yellow • Brown • Green area gives you important reference points for controlling the cue ball around the baulk area.

Understanding these positions helps you judge:

Cue-ball routes

Natural angles

Speed control

Position for the next red

3️⃣ Think 2–3 shots ahead

Don't play:

Red → then think

Instead:

Red → Colour → Next Red → Position

The stronger your planning becomes, the less you need to rely on recovery shots.

4️⃣ Speed is just as important as direction

A correct line with the wrong speed can still leave you out of position.

🎯 Good snooker = correct line + correct speed + correct cue-ball position.

Don't ask:

❌ “Can I pot this red?”

Ask:

✅ “If I pot this red, where does my cue ball need to finish?”

That small change in thinking can make a BIG difference to your break-building.

🎱 BINGO SNOOKER COACHING — THE OPTIMAL BREAK

A good break is not about hitting the reds as hard as possible.
It’s about controlling the cue ball, spreading the reds safely, and making the next shot difficult for your opponent.

🎯 What makes this break effective?

1️⃣ Controlled contact with the pack
Aim to contact the front/side area of the red pack with enough pace to create a controlled spread — not maximum power.

2️⃣ Cue-ball control is the priority
After contacting the reds, the cue ball should return toward the baulk area.
The long straight-line path shown in the diagram demonstrates the importance of controlling the cue ball's route.

3️⃣ Create a difficult reply
A good break should leave the opponent with:

No easy pot

No obvious attacking red

Limited cue-ball access

Reds spread in a way that doesn't give away an easy opportunity

4️⃣ Keep the break predictable
The arrows around the pack show the general direction the reds can travel after impact. The objective isn't simply to scatter the balls — it's to scatter them while maintaining safety.

🧠 COACHING TIP

> Power without cue-ball control is not a good break.

The best break-off is a balance of accuracy + speed + cue-ball control + safety.
