🥋 EMASKC & TSSKC Joint Training 🥋

Last night, Kelab Shotokan KarateEmaskc and Tampulan Seiryo Shotokan Karate Club came together for a friendly Joint Kumite Training Session, bringing athletes from both clubs together in the true spirit of Shotokan Karate.

The session was initiated at the request of Sensei Veralyn Marcie Ismail, with the aim of creating a platform for athletes from both clubs to train together, motivate one another, exchange experiences, and strengthen the bond between our karate family.

The evening began with an energetic cardiovascular fitness session led by Sensei Jason Ibi Mongai, followed by a dynamic warm up conducted by Senpai Danella. The training continued with valuable kumite tactical coaching by Sensei Steve Jm , before everyone put their skills into practice through a series of mini kumite matches. The energy and commitment shown by everyone were outstanding, with the session extending until 9:30 PM.

This gathering was never about competition between clubs, it was about building friendships, inspiring our athletes, sharing knowledge, and fostering stronger collaboration between EMASKC and TSSKC under the Kota Kinabalu Shotokan Karate Association family.

A heartfelt thank you to Sensei Steve JM , Sensei Jason, Sensei Lisa Lorna Fidelis, Senpai Danella and all EMASKC athletes for generously sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise to make this session meaningful and beneficial for all athletes.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to EMASKC for warmly hosting the session, and to the dedicated parents of TSSKC Sujanah SJ Jac Oris Carolyine Lynie Odimot Ogingo who made the e!!ffort to bring their children to Kapayan Baru Dojo. Your commitment and unwavering support play a vital role in the growth and success of our young karateka.

May this be the first of many more joint training sessions as we continue to grow stronger, together.

🥋 A Milestone for KKSKA! 🥋

Yesterday, EMASK Founder and KKSKA President, Master Jeffrey Madis, together with the executive committee of Kota Kinabalu Shotokan Karate Association (KKSKA), had the honour of visiting the Sabah Regional Sports Commissioner's Office to officially collect the Certificate of Registration, marking another important milestone in the establishment of our association.

Representing KKSKA were:

We were also honoured to meet and take a commemorative photo with Mr. Fedrius bin Jumi, Pesuruhjaya Sukan Rantau Sabah and sincerely thank him for the warm welcome and continuous support.

Pejabat Pesuruhjaya Sukan Negeri Sabah , under the KBSMalaysia , plays a vital role in registering, regulating, and promoting good governance among sports associations. Its guidance ensures that associations operate legally, transparently, and professionally, contributing to the sustainable development of sports in Malaysia.

Receiving this certificate is more than just obtaining an official document, it marks the beginning of a new chapter for KKSKA as we continue our mission to develop and promote Shotokan Karate in Kota Kinabalu and throughout Sabah.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all our EXCO members, instructors, athletes, parents, sponsors, supporters, and everyone who has stood by us from our humble beginnings as EMASK to the formation of KKSKA. Your trust, encouragement, and unwavering support have been the foundation of this achievement.

Another meaningful day at the 25th Silver Jubilee Milo International Open Karate Championship 2026.

From the warm-up area to the competition mats, our athletes continued to give their best, supporting one another and proudly representing Kota Kinabalu Shotokan Karate Association (KKSKA).

Every tournament is an opportunity to challenge ourselves, gain experience, and learn from some of the best athletes in the region. These moments help shape not only better karatekas, but stronger and more resilient individuals.

We are proud of the discipline, sportsmanship, and fighting spirit shown by every member of our team today. Thank you to our dedicated coaches, supportive parents, and everyone cheering us on from Sabah.

🥋 Day 1 Complete – The Wait is Over! 🔥

After months of preparation, the 25th Silver Jubilee Milo International Open Karate Championship 2026 has officially begun!

Today, our KKSKA athletes stepped onto one of the biggest stages in Malaysian karate with determination, courage, and fighting spirit. Every match was a valuable learning experience, and we're incredibly proud of everyone who represented our association with heart.

A special congratulations to our Day 1 medalists:

Our 2nd batch has officially departed for Kuala Lumpur today! ✈️

While they were making their way to KL, our 1st batch was already up early, warming up and putting in the final preparations near Stadium Titiwangsa. The championship spirit is truly alive! 🔥

Looking back, every year our team continues to grow. From just a handful of athletes to bringing an even bigger contingent this year, it is a reminder that hard work, commitment, and teamwork always pay off.

This journey is about more than medals. It's about giving our athletes the opportunity to learn, gain experience, build friendships, and proudly represent Sabah on the national and international stage.

Our dream doesn't stop here.

This year we brought more athletes than before... and next year, we hope to bring even more. One step at a time, one athlete at a time, one dream at a time. ❤️
