Always be a student. On and off the mats.
There is so much we don't know.
There is so much to know.
Life can change when we strive daily to learn new things and new perspectives.
This is the way.

THE BOLDEST PROMISE IN THE MALAYSIAN JIU JITSU SCENE
It''s already 5 days into the new year.
Have you made the change you said you were gonna make?
Have you taken actual, proactive steps to make sure 2024 is going to be any different?
Or will it be, yet again, 2025 and you promising yourself this year is gonna be THE YEAR.
The last chapter of our lives is already promised. We will die.
How we choose to live until that chapter arrives, is entirely made of promises kept or broken.
I'm gonna make you a promise.
Sign up for a full 1 year of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at
Show up at least TWICE a week for the whole year.
Give me your commitment.
And at the end of 2024, if you tell me your life isn't better because of jiu jitsu and the better choices it has encouraged you to make and that you are a better version of yourself after being able to FINALLY get rid of bad habits that were holding you back -
I WILL 100 PERCENT REFUND WHAT YOU PAID ME.
Every. Single. Cent.
Your commitment. My guarantee.
You have nothing to lose. And only the best version of yourself to gain.
This is the boldest promise in the Malaysian jiu jitsu scene. The rest is entirely up to you.

Never allow your opinions and perspectives to be shaped by race or religion. Race and religion has always been and will always be tools to divide and distract us.
While some will argue for its good, much of the world's greatest atrocities has been and still is perpetuated in the name of race and religion.
Understand one thing: ALL of us are capable of good. And evil.
Choose to be good in a world where most have lost their ability to differentiate between right and wrong.
This is the way.

Your heroes aren't gods. They're just regular people who probably got good at one thing by neglecting literally everything else

Jiu jitsu is hard.
Expecting it to be easy just makes it harder.
It never gets easier. You just become better.
Embrace the truth.
Enjoy the journey.

You can either make excuses, or make an effort.
One will cost you your future self and your potential.
The other will result in a better self and closer to your full potential.
Everything in life is going to cost you something. Unfortunately for some of us, the price we fully pay will only be realised many years down the road.
I first met Nick in February 2021. He expressed a keen desire to get in shape through Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and learn self defense.
Eventhough the pandemic made training difficult, Nick persevered through the many days, weeks and months of uncertainties. Nothing derailed him. He wasn't athletic. He wasn't flexible. He was average just like many of us. But his determination and dedication kept him motivated when so many would just give in to excuses.
On the 2nd of November 2023, I awarded Nick his well deserved Blue Belt. I am known to be very strict when it comes to awarding belts. I cannot be bought. Few have tried. And a belt must not only represent skill and ability, but also character and humility.
Why am I sharing Nick's story and his well deserved promotion?
Because Nick is the perfect example for so many out there who is afraid to make a commitment to becoming a better version of themselves and instead choose to live with excuses and an unrealised potential.
Nick is a full time business man. He has a family. He has kids. He travels due to business obligations. He has a ton of life responsibilities. And yes, sometimes life gets in the way and he may miss a training session or two.
But he gets back into it.
Nick is the perfect example of why we should all just try. And in trying, perhaps we can find within ourselves the life transforming awareness of what we as humans are truly capable of
- CHANGE. For the better good.

The past 3 years have been the most difficult and challenging years I have ever had to endure. My resilience and determination was constantly tested. Many lies were told for the purpose of personal vendettas. So many hoped for my downfall. Friends and students left me. But so many more stayed and supported me.
And I found strength and solace in the many who stood by my side. I focused on what mattered most. My jiu jitsu. My students. And their jiu jitsu.
Together, we weathered the storm that was the pandemic and the toxic politics that have permeated the local BJJ scene.
We competed. We medalled. We celebrated each others accomplishments.
We cheered each other towards becoming the best version of ourselves. Others saw my vision and the team I was building. They decided to join. And stay.
Today alongside my fellow Black Belts Prof Tjun, Prof James, Prof Ren; I received my first degree on my Black Belt from the IBJJF Hall of Fame, greatest lightweight competitor of all time and my Prof
This first degree on my belt will forever be memorable because of many reasons. But the biggest reason will be the friends and students who have entrusted me with the responsibility of being a leader. I am nothing and I am nobody without your unwavering support. I am not a self made Black Belt. I am YOUR first degree Black Belt.
And I will continue to elevate us to greater success on and off the mats.
To my aspirational Prof Lucas Lepri, my my friends, supporters, students and PT clients - THANK YOU for making today possible!
And my heartfelt appreciation to for capturing the moment

Gratitude post
I recognise that everything I am able to do is because of each and every single one of you who believes in me enough to pay your fees, invest in private lessons, support my causes, and refer your friends and social circle to our academy.
I recognise that for every medal and accomplishment I am able to facilitate, it is because of you.
I acknowledge that for every technique that I teach and it works, it is because of you.
I am aware that the bills and rent are paid so we have a place to pursue excellence is because you have chosen to entrust me with your jiu jitsu journey.
I strive to be a World Masters champion because I know that in the process of being one, there will be lessons learnt and experiences gained that will be invaluable for you.
This post is dedicated to each and every one of my students. My private clients. Past and present. Those of you who continue to believe in me. The few who have invested in me and continue to do so. The many who have stood by me through tumultuous times.
A thank you is just a minimum.
I will repay you and your belief in me by becoming the best I could ever be so I can make the biggest difference in as many lives as I possibly could until my last breath.
This I promise you.
