The Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF) is the principal authority over all chess events in Malaysia and organizes the Malaysian Chess Championships.

Chess Classes @ MCF Office – Malaysian Chess Federation 26/05/2026

MCF will launch a new initiative in 2026 by organizing beginner and beginner/intermediate-level chess classes at its MCF office in Seri Kembangan, starting on the 6th of June 2026.

Interested parents and kids, or even adults who are keen to participate and learn more about chess, are invited to click the link below to learn more and register. For now, the number of students accepted into the program is limited to 12 students to ensure a more effective learning session.

β™ŸοΈ The MCF National Interschool Chess Championship 2026 has officially come to an end!

What an incredible two days filled with intense battles, unexpected results, fighting spirit, and unforgettable moments across the boards. Every round showcased determination, teamwork, and passion from players representing schools from all around the country.

πŸ† In the Primary School Category, SJKC KUEN CHENG emerged as Champions with an impressive 16 points, ahead of SRAB JOHOR BAHRU in 2nd place and SJKC CHUNG SHAN as 3rd earning the Best Coed school followed by SK PRESINT 14 in the Primary School Category.

πŸ† In the Secondary School Category, SMJK CHUNG LING emerged as Champions with a dominant 20 points, ahead of SMJK HENG EE in 2nd place and SMJK CHONG HWA in 3rd, while SMK DATIN ONN JAAFAR earned the title of Best Coed School in the Secondary School Category.

Congratulations to all winners and participants for displaying excellent sportsmanship, resilience, and dedication throughout the tournament. Whether you brought home trophies or valuable experience, every player should be proud of their effort.

A special thank you goes to all teachers, parents, arbiters, organizers, and supporters whose continuous encouragement and hard work made this championship possible. Your support created an amazing atmosphere for everyone involved.

What an incredible first day of this tournament!

After hours of intense battles, the first day of National Interschool Chess Championship has come to an end.

In the Primary school category, SJKC YUK CHAI, SJKC KUEN CHENG 1 and SRAB JOHOR BAHRU are tied for the first place with 7 points.

In the Secondary school category, SMJK CHUNG LING and SMJK HENG EE are also tied for the first place with 7 points.

The closing ceremony marked a memorable end to an exciting and competitive chess tournament filled with passion, strategy, and sportsmanship.

The closing ceremony was attended by ambassadors from various countries and started with the speeches from Professor Dr Badrul Isa, Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Malaysia Academy of SME and Entrepreneurship Development (MASMED); MCF President Mr Akhramsyah Muammar Ubaidah Sanusi; and the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Malaysia, His Excellency Irfan Davudov, who followed up with a video showing the history of Azerbaijan and the late Heyder Aliyev, Azerbaijan's national hero.

The prize-giving session was given by Professor Dr Badrul Isa, Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Malaysia Academy of SME and Entrepreneurship Development (MASMED); President of MCF, Mr Akhramsyah Muammar Ubaidah Sanusi; and Republic of Azerbaijan Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Mr Irfan Davudov, to appreciate the outstanding achievements of players who showcased exceptional skill and determination throughout the event. Medals and certificates were presented to deserving winners while participants shared proud and joyful moments together.

The evening continued with a warm dinner session for the players, officials and families.

Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and support in making this event a meaningful and successful celebration.

What an incredible journey this tournament has been!

After hours of intense battles, brilliant moves, and unforgettable moments, the Azerbaijan National Leader Rememberance Day has officially come to an end.

In the Open Category, FM Wong Jianwen came up as the winner with 7 points, overcoming FM Kavin Mohan in 2nd place and FM Lye Lik Zang in 3rd.

In the Women Category, Aqilah Husna is the champion with 7 points, while WCM Nithyalakshmi Sivanesan is in 2nd place and Azraa Adeline Azman is in 3rd place.

Congratulations to all winners and participants for their hard work, sportsmanship, and determination throughout the tournament. Thank you to everyone who supported and made this tournament a success!

Following the conclusion of the Q2/2026 GP Circuit Quarterly event, the leaderboard for the GP Point earners has been updated.

The next GP event will be the May series, followed by the National Open Team Chess Championship 2026 - PMX Trophy

Day 1 of the MCF Office GP Circuits Quarterly Event has concluded. It was a day full with challenging matches and learning experiences for the player.

Tin Shan Wen and Muhammad Danish Arif are the front runners with 3 points followed by Gagloyev Alan and Chay Joon Hong with 2.5 points

Azerbaijan National Leader Remembrance Day 2026 – Malaysian Chess Federation 25/04/2026

Registration for the Azerbaijan National Leader Remembrance Day 2026 is now open for players to sign up.

Scheduled to be held on 10th May 2026, the event will be divided into the Open/Men and Women events to be played over 7 rounds. Using the Rapid time control of 15 mins + 10 seconds increment, a total prize fund of RM7,200 has been set aside for the championship, with the Open winner to garner RM1k for his/her effort, and another RM800 for the woman's champion.

The closing date is set on the 3rd of May 2026, and entries received after this date will incur an additional fee as a penalty.
